Penile Atrophy, Zero Libido, Ejaculatory Anhedonia, Bloodtests Back

Other then getting your E2 down and maybe getting some Thyroid medication the rest looks great! Your Test levels are fine in fact I would kill to have natural test that high. I did not see insulin number or an AC1 in this pannel you posted butit might be a good idea. The alternative would mean a possably mental issue which does not mean you are crazy or anything but would be much harder to treat! I would try some Armosin at low dosage for a week or two and see how it goes if itis E2 Armosin and some DIM should dothe trick and getyou penis working right again. DHT and DHEA would not have much affect on erectile function if anything DHT would improveit and it would also have you penis firm and large not shrinking and wrinkled up. DHT is potent as can be and often just seing a rubon DHT cream with out even using test can solve ED issues and for kids with small penis's and such it works great to get their penis growing again. DHEA is well needed for complete health but I have never heard of it being too high or too low to sustain an erection. Many guys taking AAS for muscle mass have next to no DHEA in their body at times depending on what theya re useing and still have nice strong erections.

So make sure your thyroids is getting the support it needs, block some of the E2 and lets see if you can get back intothe swing of things!

Wow, that sucks. I take anti-depression medication & also had ECT(electric shocks to the brain) so my issues are either getting wood or being able to feel anything once I do.. Sometimes I can get wood, sometimes I can't, but it's like I can barely feel anything. Do medications like Viagra actually make you feel anything more, or just give you a boner(which would basically be a numb sex toy)???

It's hard to describe, but you aren't turned on as much & sometimes I truly cant tell whether it's in, even when it is. The one good part is I like sucking pussy alot more than sex anyways, which I think is preferred by girl as well so it works out alright.

I took finasteride when I was in my late 30's and developed sexual adhedonia shortly after, I slowly buy surely lost sensation in my penis. After a few months I developed depression for the first time in my life and have not been able to completely recover from it and that was 10 years ago. Now I have very little sensation at all and it is very troubling. Stay away from finasteride. If this drug actually caused this problem I may sue the drug manufacturer. I was never told that this could happen or I would have never taken this drug. I never connected thew drug finasteride to my sexual adhedonia until reading about others experiencing the same problems with it. Anybody got any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

6 years ago Since finasteride use for one month

a) Penis shrinkage
b) ball atrophy and damage (not the atrophy you get from anabolic steroids, but damage due to low dht)
c) prostatic inflammation and aches in groin/ endless testicular pains
d) adrenal problems + thyroid problems (stayed in bed for 2.5 years to be able to walk again)
e) cognitive problems. depression, thoughts of suicide every single day
f) no libido, shitty orgasm, no ability to have proper sex for all them years whatsoever
g) stopped studies, lost all possiblity to work, serious financial problems, family problems

you name it

the few things i have learned about finasteride and its effects on our systems.

its not a matter of individual hormones or their relative numbers. The whole GnRH-LH/FSH/gonadal system, and HPA has been affected. Unfortunately for us, the trophic effects of hormones like dht and testosterone on neurotransmitters, neuropeptides etc etc, and the balance they set forth between different systems rising in the hypothalamus have been messed up.

What i mean as simple as i can explain. My T levels are 400mg/dl while prior to fin they used to be in the 700 mg/dl-750 zone.
Well, now my body reckons that this 400mg/dl is the proper amount of T in the body (why and how is this determined i will explain latter) and it has established a new feedback system that keeps this in balance. If i try to increase this T level just a bit, i get extraordinary increase of E2 or and prolactin and serious GnRH shutdown as a result, causing me more aches and pain in my testicles and more atrophy/damage. This has to do with finasteride (epigenetically??) established decreased rate of T to DhT conversion and the following effect of those two hormones on the brain neurotransmitter regeneration. All or most of those substances that are needed to keep GnRH levels in proper, are in low amounts nowadays or some are higher and others are lower than what should be, and theres too many of them affected, like serotonin, gaba, noradrenaline, substance P, CRF, galanin, endothelin, glutamate, dopamine, acetylcholine, leptin, VIP, and around a dozen known more.

The whole HPG system thus has a marked shift on it. The brain chemicals are not enough or not working in balance to support for proper GnRH, let alone proper CRF, or TRF production. So what happens??? The body tries to keep a balance between its different axis, with miscellaneous amounts of those aforementioned peptides in response to the nowdays scarce neurotransmitter levels and what ensues is a mixture of chronic fatigue, low libido, thyroid issues etc etc.
Its not solely a gonadal problem any more or a testicular problem on its own, its a systemic neuroendocrinological issue.
I remember after fin use i tried to ejaculate twice in the same day and almost collapsed from exhaustion. Before i used to ejaculate 4 times a day without worries. I had sex twice a day without problems too, after fin i had no sex, or something like having sex, it only lasted 2-3 minutes in a semiflaccid state and it almost always started and ended with a bj-thats how far it could get actually. I always felt dead after wards.

I tried to cure this condition with excessive exercise and healthy diet. No alcohol (that would exhaust brain chemicals more and cause testicular pains/aches and more flaccidity-and no libido), a lot of whey protein, heavy lifting. I managed to regain a couple of cm in my penile length and some feeling of orfasm and some penile sensation, but i never realised the dreadful potentials of finasteride at that time. All my systems had been compromised and 2 hours of exercise per day was enough to sent me to overtraining and adrenal fatigue after a few months

I also became very sensitive to any sort of drugs whatsoever. In the last 2-3 years i cannot even ingest vitamin C. Why?? Because it raises noradrenaline and this means, exhausting other neurotransmitters causing more CRF and more GnRH depletion and further shutting down of my HPG axis. I remeber before fin i used to take antibiotics for fun, now i cant stand them. 1/4 th of the most common antibiotic keeps me in an alert state all night long.

Anyways, i reckon that the only way out of this is to provide the body with proper levels or both T and DhT. How this will be done is unknown, i dont know what form is better, i want to experiment and see on my own. Maybe some growth hormone is needed too. Its very difficult however to reset the levels of natural T production because that would include finding this exogenous/ or endogenous stimulus that will keep T levels so high and E2/Prolactin so low and T to dht conversion rate normal for quite some period. I guess some thought that nolvadex could do that, but i doubt it can be so simple as that.

Hello, im pretty messed up since a year ago, when i injured my groin (blunt trauma, i suspect artery damage) my testicles was damaged or had progressive damage due to the circulation issues. I noticed bigger veins on penis and especially under left testicle (circulation issue?, or hypoxi induced factor? Growth of veins because the body cant grow new arteries to get oxygen it grows veins). Prominent veins on the penis was also seen after a while either increased/messed up circulation or losing of adipose tissue? athropy.

Before the injury i had a high sex drive, working out daily, manage job, studies with no much effort. After the injury there was sudden ED, numbness in the whole groin area including rectum, testicles (cold), nightly sweatings, panic attacks, bones and joints started to hurt? and gynecomastia probably due to going from very high testosterone values to low (aromatization to estrogen etc). Penis shriveled up lost all elasticity and i can swear ive lost both girth and length (i know penis muscles have alot of androgen receptors, so lack of testosterone would make the muscles athropy also because testosterone in studies show to protect nerves from detoriating and as muscles cant live without nerves they would athropy as often is the case after nerve damage). But as pointed out might also be thyroid problem(circulation issues). Also lack of energy, motivation, muscle & weight loss is my symptoms.

The elasticity of the skin is also affected by testosterone or is it DHT? However in my case i think everything is due to a damaged artery and or nerves. Urologist specialist sent me home with cialis wich didnt help more than having a dead penis getting erect, also my glans are still numb and doesnt fill up even with cialis. Might be corpus spongiosum damage also.

I got more questions and speculations than answers really and im gonna try get a full bloodwork done and get a proper specialist checking blood flow, but i think major damage is already done wich is irreversible and its a friggin uphill battle against doctors, ive been refused blood works, tests because doctor had 35 years of experience and made diagnosis out of experience neglecting symtoms (pisses me off).

My pre injury values i dont know, why test when i feel healthy? (and how the hell can doctors pick a number from a 95% confidence intervall including sick individuals and say its normal for an individual? including when they didnt know my previous values?), my post injury values that i managed to get from the "doctors" are total testosterone 16 nmol (460 ng/dl) max morning value i would guess so the +-40% fluctuations would put me down to 10 nmol during evenings? STILL not low enough for care i think the limit is even as low as 6-10 nmol (sweden) thats why i fall asleep during the day (and i mean literally fall asleep), i pass out.
Prolaktin was apparently normal, i was refused SHBG and free/bioavailable testosterone tests, think i might have to go private doctors.

Anyway i had to try testosterone enananthe 250 mg/week because i wouldnt have managed job otherwise im on vacation now. I got my energy back and also libido (initially) then i lost libido again is this because as a writer mention above my body homestasis is set on lower testosterone value (as it gone a year with bad values) and the excess get aromatized to estrogen? Maybe try some arimidex? I get some libido back with nolvadex (estrogen blocker) but i think i have to stop experimenting and get a proper doctor/medication. Im 30 years old btw, im suicidal depressed without testo injections (yes even before) so dont judge my self medication.

Hey ya'll,

Same problem as the rest of you. My penis shrinks up then goes back to normal, no libido, really bad ed and it is driving me !@#$%^ nuts....cialis barely works and my girlfriend finally broke up with me.

I have had some tests done:

Cortisol-
7:30 am 5.7 ng/ml morning range: 7.0 - 10 ng/ml

11:30 am 4.2 ng/ml midday range: 3.0 - 6.0 ng/ml

5:00 pm 2.3 ng/ml evening range: 2.0 - 4.0 ng/ml

10.00 pm 2.5 ng/ml night time range: <1.5 ng/ml

Needless to say I have a problem with my Cortisol levels, I have an adrenal stim test coming up so the doc will be able to figure out exactly what is going on. Just to let you know another doctor of mine put me on hydrocortisone and bam...I felt like a million bucks and got morning wood for the first time in years, plus I was able to get a hard on like whoa...did not notice the libido change much but I only took it for 3 days, then had to taper off because of my endo wanting me to do the stress test. Now that I am off the hydrocortisone, I feel worse than before and my dick probs are back. but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Also, I got some hormones tested that I thought might be a broplem:

Estradiol:
3.8 pg/ml ref range: 1.0 - 4.8 pg/ml seems fine.

Estrone:
2.3 pg/ml ref range: 0.5 - 3.9 pg/ml seems fine.

Progesterone:
90.0 pg/ml ref range: 12.7 - 65.1 pg/ml is def elevated and I have heard this can cause libido and ed probs...tried following up with endo, she didn't seen to concerned....I need to find a new endo I think.

Either way, any feed back would be appreciated on the progesterone level. I hope this helps some people with this problem and if you have it I would get an endo to check your cortisol levels....I have found from a lot of reading this is a highly undiagnosed prob.

Good luck ya'll don't give up!!!

Hello, im pretty messed up...............

Well an update for me i got my libido back and ED solved with a year of testosterone. So i probably was primary hypogonad , ie hcg, clomid doesnt work at 460ng/dl ie 16 nmol/L, must been really high before injury. I dont trust doctors anymore and decide to self medicate, as i know more than any doctors ive met, the irony is that all the doctors think the same of their patients. I think in my case its dilated spermatic veins, ie >2 mm varioceles that causes backflow in the testicles, killing leydig cells(the testosterone producing cells) they are in the tubulis epithel of testicles and spermatic veins, when veins dilate the NO production increases causing more toxic metabolites to pool. More about varioceles: http://www.uhmc.sunysb.edu/urology/male_infertility/VARICOCELE_AND_ITS_TREATMENT.html
