Anyone help me out? If you choose to get tracking and arent there to sign when they try to deliver it, do you then have to go to the post office to pick it up? And then considering you used a fake name are they going to need ID to pick up the package?

Yup, happened to me. Pack was sent with signature needed, and I wasn’t home so I had to go pick it up at the post office. But I used my real name.

Yeah so what’s the big deal ? If you have to go to pico it up you didn’t have any problems with the law the order was successful , also we are in the EU it’s domestic they don’t open your package.

In the UK they will try to redeliver I think twice before they return the package. ID with same address different name along with delivery card may be sufficient as ypure picking it up for a housemate/partner? ...

If the package needs a signatura they are going to leave a pink paper " notice left" you just need to sing that paper so the mail man can redeliver in 2 days.
Or you can call the same day and ask to be redeliver next day.
But still you need to sign the pink slip .

Don’t know why people do this. It raises more flags to ship with a fake name as opposed to using your own. Don’t be fooled that this circumvents legal stuff if you were actually going to get busted. Just my 2c.

not smart to use fake name
1 - you loose reship guarantee
2 - you may have a problem with postal re-delivery
3 - pack which was send back to country of sender ( our country ) is potential issue for us = you loose our trust

Anyway, 99% of packs with track option NEED a signature, so its normal, nothing strange. If pack was delivered - receiver will not be at home - and does not pick up pack from post = NO RESHIP.
