History:
As child until 12 played baseball, football, and soccer. At 13 until 18 played soccer, wrestled, and road Moto-cross 125cc class. Head routinely bounced off of ground [:o)]. At 18 was 145lbs 4% body fat (7 point caliper).

Car Accident in 1998 1 week before honeymoon. Soft tissue injury of neck. Treated for 6 months by Chiropractor. Good to go.

2005, bad year for me, Three bad things in a row:
A. Hurt lower/mid back January 2005. Chiropractor helped fix up.

B. March 2005 fell down stairs and suffered concussion.

C. April 2005 Car accident caused severe neck pain. Any lateral flexion would aggravate and cause inflammation. Inflammation would cause muscle spasms in different muscles anywhere in the body. Facial twitches, twitches of muscles in foot, abdomen, glute, quads, biceps, triceps, fore arms. anywhere. Just not all at once. By November 2005 still was not better and began entering depression. Found new doctors and specialists in March 2006. Primary Neck mobility recovered by July 2006. Insurance company refuses to pay doctors bills. Currently in court.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
September 2005 diagnosed as Hypothyroid after radioactive test of thyroid uptake.
On 100mcg Synthroid.

2006 November began working out again. Injured right shoulder joint in 3rd week.
2007 January, employed personal trainer to try to fix broken body.
2008 August, developed fluid on knee. MRI, doctor says nothing they can do. Do not do deep squats, run, jump, or any of many things I loved to do.

Symptoms:
  • First noted large decline in sex drive (libido) in 2002. No ED issues.
  • Moods began having pendulum like swings in 2003. Noted as less stable mood.
  • Moods began large instability in 2005. Noted as effects of injuries. Hoped to recover.
  • Early 2006 began taking Melatonin as could not seem to go to sleep.
  • 2007 No longer sleeping through the night. Wake up 2 or 3 times per night. not rested on waking. On positive note, mood has stabilized.
  • 2007-through now - Intense Exercise causes severe nausea and the feeling of a need to empty bowels. Same day, usually need to sleep after a crash. Typically takes at least 48 hours to recover normal energy.
  • 2008 - very little libido, can go a month without thinking about sex or being aroused. Wife sad.
  • 2nd half of 2008 - Mood becoming very erratic again. No legitimate source (Maybe knee?). Cry due to stupid little things occasionally.

Treatment Sought
  • December 2008 -- Visited well respected Anti-Aging Doctor
  • I am 35 years old.
  • Primary thing I was looking for was a way to heal my body so that I can be a normal person again. I want to run. I want to do squats. I am only 35...
  • Testing results begin in next post:

Sorry, I did not realize I would not be able to go back and fix the formatting on my posts.

If there is someway that I can fix my posts or delete the incorrectly formatted ones, please let me know.

Looks to me that you are suffering from adrenal imbalance (low cortisol look at over all cortisol number its very low) no need to go any further that is affecting your thyroid performance, also check antibodies.
You are also low on zinc because alot of the enzyme responsible for zinc are out of balance
white blood cells, alkalinphosphatese, reverse t-3. High reverse t-3 are due to past stress that have depleted your cortisol reserves. All of these can also be related to low cortisol levels ..With high dhea and low cortisol it appears that your body is in the beginning stages of adrenal fatigue if this is not addressed properly.

Decisions made:

January 28, 2009
-- Began 7.5grams of Androgel Daily

January 28 through February 10
No significant notes. Waiting to feel different.

February 11
-- Began GHRH Therapy. Injections every evening.

February 12 through March 16
Noted increased libido every 3rd or 4th day about 1.5 to 2 hours after Androgel application. Took 2 complete weeks from start of TRT before noticing libido spikes.
Approximately 2 or 3 percent drop in body fat. I was previously around 11 or 12 percent and based on visuals alone I appear to be closer to 9 or 10 percent.
Noted elevation in mood around the same time as noticing the reduction in body fat. I believe my self confidence was improving.
Noted nipple sensitivity every other or third day. Nothing extreme.

March 16
-- Changed from Androgel to 10% Compunded Testosterone due to February 28 Rhein Test. Went from Test of 34 on Jan 3 before TRT to Test of 31 Feb 28 after being on TRT for 30 days.
-- Added Hydrocort 10mg daily upon waking. This decision was made based on continued fatigue, sleepiness, crashing in workouts, etc. Was asked about salt cravings also.

March 20
-- Began new Compunded Test

March 20 through April 2
Loss of Libido. Very low energy constantly. Describing how I felt would be "I really did not feel, I just was."

April 2
-- Changed Compounded Testosterone to a new base as based on symptoms alone it was felt I was not absorbing.

April 3
-- Started NEW Compounded Testosterone

April 3 through April 8
Nothing noted for first 2 days.
Noted on April 5 day that I was becoming very emotional.
Noted on April 7 that I was irrationally emotional. Almost cried at work 4 times. Could not concentrate.
Noted on April 7 that I Incline pressed heaviest weight ever.
On April 8 I split application of Testosterone to 50% in morning and then 50% in early afternoon. Did not note excessive emotion. Had a good day

I will be performing another Rhein test in 2 weeks. I will also have my Insulin, IGF-1, and IGFBP3 tested at that time.

I will post my supplements and diet tomorrow as it is very late :-)

Normal Supplements:
  • Randomly throughout life - Daily vitamin every once in awhile.
  • 2006 -- Melatonin 1mg to 3mg depending on bottle I found at store. 2009 changed to Time Release 3mg tablets.
  • 2009, January -- 100mg 5-HTP and 750mg GABA nightly before bed.
  • 2009, February -- 8000iu Carlson Vitamin D3 Solar Gems. Fish Oil. Glucosamine Chondrotin with MSM.
  • 2009, March -- 400mg Chelated Magnesium. I have had constipation problems for about 5 years and read on another board that Magnesium might help. It has :).
__________________________________________________
Dietary:
I do not love vegetables unfortunately...
Most of life ate a high protein, low card, high fat diet

Example of a day for me:
  • 4:00 A.M. 1 packet Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal mixed with 1/2 cup plain cracked oats.
  • 5:30 A.M. Danactive Probiotic Drink
  • 7:00 A.M. Ultramet Meal Replacement shake (280 cals, 41g protein, 23g carbs, 3g fat)
  • 10:30 A.M. Turkey Sub Sandwich or Kashi heart to heart high protein cereal
  • 1:00 P.M. Granola Bar
  • 3:30 P.M. 1 or 2 Hard boiled eggs or a cup of Yogurt
  • 6:00 P.M. Chicken or beef with a medium or low GI carb side

I have been monitoring my waking temperature for the last few weeks.

The rang on waking has been 96.5 to 97.4 degrees. The average is about 97 degrees.

I looked into this because Jansz has been posting about body temperature a lot. I am Hypothyroid. This makes me wonder if my Thyroid dosing needs fixed.

Some other interesting observations in regards to temperature.

1st: I just realized that for almost 2 year now I have started wearing a cardigan sweater at work during the day. Both in the winter and sometimes in the summer. I keep it at work all the time now.

2nd: I had not even considered this. We used to just keep blankets in the living room for my wife to use. Now I am almost always using a blanket. I have also had to adjust the winter thermostat. We used to keep it around 67 degrees, but this year it has crept up to 69 degrees and a few days I have had it set up to 71. The temperature in my room would get as high as 78 degrees and I still wouldn't feel warm.

I will mention this to my doctor in the next appointment.

This is a very detailed journal

There are only a few gels that I found to work in clients. the ones with u base or verabase are the more absorbable gels. Where are you applying the gel at ? Corredting adrenal issue could have resolved the absorption problem.

You have major b-12, folate, b-6, zinc imbalances going on BIG time.
Your alkaline phosphotase should be >65 reflects anemia due to b-6, folic acid, b-12, hypothyroidism, hypoadrenals
Trust me I can spot this shit a mile away ..The reason its red flagging me is because what happens in the blood is reflective of tissue 4-5 months ago.
your CBC is screwed..MCHC <33.5 not 35 when you are approaching the top 80% of these numbers tissue defieincy has already occured

vitamin b-12, zinc will lower rt3

Wow. Well, I am hoping to have more information in 2 weeks after I get some more labs back.

Currently the Doc is trying to tune my Testosterone. My Rhein measured Test number went down after being on Androgel 7.5g a day. Then the first 10% compounded Test was a GEL from ANEWrx. I was getting white powder on my arms after application and I definitely was not feeling anything from it.

The new 10% compounded and is a CREAM on the label comes from ANEWrx also. I can feel this, but not as much as I felt the 7.5g of Androgel, so I am betting that my Test numbers will not have improved. I know that I do not feel any better, actually a bit worse since stopping the androgel.

I am very curious as to what the next step is going to be... I am slightly discouraged after 3 months of HRT and still feeling poorly, but I know I have problems and we need to find what works for me. No cookie cutter here. I will mention your observations to the doc. Thanks!

Heal the adrenal and thyroid issue will help with the compunding creame.
Also where is your ferritin levels?
For God sake do not use PLO gel the shit sucks. UBASE from university pharmacy works fantastic even with the worst case adrenal issues. 10 grams should take you to the 500-600 range with out hcg. make sure you apply in to forearms not with hands as much of it is lost. I agree 24 hour is the best source to get how gels are really working. I have alot of guys get the 24 hour test done as well on gels because most guys are testing at 600-700 2 hours after application so it probably levels out at 400-500 as average This is with out hcg added in every 3 rd day 250 ius
our goal is try to get 500-600 first on the gel then keep the e2 incheck then add the hcg in after a good solid 4 weeks of stable test levels. We first address the adrenals and thyroid, nutritional needs first. When doing this we have had people tesotsterone go from 200 to 500 or higher by back filling the loop holes. If after 2-3 months there is no rise then TRT is started. Alot of guys have avoided TRT by examing lifestyle, nutritoin and thyroid and adrenals. After year of getting only 60% of the thyroid equation since getting the other 30% plus there has been a dramatic improvement in many symptoms.

Completed urine Test over the weekend. Now to wait for results.

I will be posting some old labs from when they discovered I was Hypothyroid.

April 8 - 27
-- One additional emotional roller coaster. No definable reason. Occurred late afternoon to early evening.
-- Notice increase in fatty tissue around abdominal region.
-- No IGF Labs yet as Doc office hasn't sent script to lab.

Current Supplements:

When these labs were done I was on:
1mg - 10% Compounded Testosterone Cream
10mg - Hydrocort
100mcg - Levothyroxin
100mcg - GHRP-6/Sermorelin
8000iu Vitamin D3
Fish Oil

I had taken no other supplements during the previous 7 days. The normal supplements I take are listed earlier in this thread.

I must say that I think I have reached some of the lower lows in my adult life. If I wasn't scared of what it could do to my future, I would have gone and seen a psychiatrist. I really hope things start to improve because I feel like I am walking very close to the edge of something bad. My emotional swings of late have scared me and my wife is even starting to show some concern. I think they are starting to notice at work also.

Doctor has changed me to Testosterone Cypionate injections. I should be receiving my prescription tomorrow. I have never done IM injections before so I hope they are as easy to learn as the sub-q injections were.

New doctor recommended protocol:
100mg Testosterone Cypionate injected once per week
10mg - Hydrocort
100mcg - Levothyroxin
100mcg - GHRP-6/Sermorelin
8000iu Vitamin D3

I believe that the doctor will be modifying my thyroid medicine after the testosterone is under control. I have been on the Levothyroxin for several years. Doctor mentioned looking into Armour in the future.

Post test I added LEF B Vitamin Complex and Opti-L-Zinc based on Hardasnails comments. I have no clue if it has helped because I feel like I am still going down a slide.
