Protein Consumption

I've always heard 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. I got some bad UG stuff and didn't gain any weight from it. I posted this and people were flaming me because I was eating 4,000 calories and 250g protein a day. Shouldn't that have been enough to gain weight. I just gained 5 lbs. :( I think it was people associated with the UG lab posting that was a noob and didn't know what I was doing. That's what I always done and gained at least 20 lbs during a cycle every time except this one. I read that even 0.8g protein is enough to gain weight.

I weight about 182 and take in anywhere around 150 to 190 grams a day and I gain just fine on gear.
I am older but I still have a good body for my age (hell any age really:D), so for those that say you need like 300 grams of protein a day are full of shit.

There is a vegetarian dude at my gym that it totally ripped to pieces and I dont think he takes in very much protein. I dont remember his totals but at the time I was shocked.
He looks awesome.

It has a lot to do with genetics also. I gained 30 pounds in two months on black beans & rice with one chicken breast for dinner. Oatmeal for breakfast and top ramen and bean burrito's for lunch. While riding 10 miles a day to school and work on me bike and lifting weights and boxing. while others work sloth jobs lift weights and have a hard time gaining muscle drivin a car.

There are a couple of trainers at my gym who are really ripped and keep protein intake to an absolute minimum for medical reasons. One guy has polycistic fibrosis (sp?) and the other is genetically pre-disposed to gout. So you don't absolutely need to swallow huge amounts of protein to get big, altho the studies show that it sure helps.

4000 calories at what bodyweight?

255 Guys over at Outlaw are ripping on me becuase I had a opinion saying that a certain UG labs gear was crap. I said that I just ate 255 g protein a day and they tell me I have no clue what I'm doing and that's it's my fault I'm not getting gains. I think the gear is bad. I've always had gains before eating 1 g per lb bodyweight.

OK, you ate 4000kcal/day and gained 5lb or some time period. Was that 5lb of muscle, 0lb fat, 5lb fat 0lb muscle or what?

I mean if you just didn't gain enough 'weight' eat more calories (duh). If it's a problem with fat vs. muscle it may be diet or cycle/gear.

4000kcal for 255lb doesn't sound like much for a non-gear bulk to me. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that was maintanance.

4000 / 255 = 15 cals per pound. Thats about maintenance requirements for most people.

I gain weight easy on gear.
That stuff probably was fake bro.

They have no idea what you are eating and were defensive so that to me sounds like you got some fake gear.

5 lbs of muscle is not an easy task.
BodyFat calapers might be a good idea for investment.

You wouldn't be able to tell me anymore about the guy that gets gout and what he eats would ya??? I am one of those pre-disposed to get gout. It sucks and most fo the time I just say screw it and eat what I want protein wise. I would be curious to know what he eats. Thanks... Dont mean to hijack so if you know and want to PM me that is fine.
