Proton Pump Inhibitors and Gastric Emptying

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with PPIs and delayed gastric emptying? Obviously it's hard to get all the food we need in in a day but it's to the point where a single bagel has me full and feeling ready to puke from exercise over 3 hours later.

Drinking anymore than 500mls of water in an hour has my stomach completely distended and unable to eat.

I've been on PPIs for acouple of years now but am only just now wondering if they could be part of the problem

Took Nexium for many years when I was younger, stopped drinking and no longer needed it. Gave me diarrhea if anything. The most common side effects list both constipation and diarrhea though: Nexium | Side Effects & Dangers of Long-Term Use.

What PPI are you taking?
Pantoloc. I've tried to come off it cold turkey but the acid rebound I get is so unbelievable it has me throwing up until I take it. Even with all sorts of antacids. So trying to taper off atm

I'm supposed to get upper endoscopy soon. Most likely weak LES and if they can fix while in there, they will.
I have a thought that if we buffer our acids we loose the full ability to digest. So I want to fix it.
I began getting more bloated and other issues when I started using acid reducers. Prilosec typically. However I have taken them long term.

Same with water. Humans are some of the only mammals that eat and drink at same time. The ones that do are domestic , do so because we place water near their food.
My wife never really drinks when she eats, and has no gastrointestinal issues. No one in her family does, because they don't eat and drink. Weird right?

I actually have no expertise on the subject, just something I thought of.

I have gerd, been on pantoprazol for over a decade. I also take NOW foods super enzymes with every meal to help break down food, I find this helps a ton with preventing indigestion.
