Thank you very much. Shit I believe I said it earlier in this thread. I was all teary eyed. I was in the gym when this was happening. He's my oldest from my previous marriage. They spent most of the summer here. I took him to the gym with me every morning. Got him at up at 4:30. I had to give credit he was up before me.

Shit I don't know how I missed this thread. Didn't get a notification, but we've been talking back and forth.

One thing I was going to text you today is the history test is no fuckin joke. i failed it the first time. Got locked down for the night and made some flash cards. Speaking of small unit... just wait until he goes to SURT before School. At the end you have to do your AAR report, 3 good 3 bad... you know that BS with courses. My buddy said "I would rather fall out a 3 story building straight onto my dick than go through this course again" I laughed when the cadre read it out loud. Got the shit smoked out of me too. Good times.

Congrats brother. I know we've talked about this quite a bit and I can definitely tell how excited you were. Getting on his ass about training haha! That shit was funny getting a call from you and shootin the shit about cardiac hill. Shit maybe I saw you at Benning brew pub on karaoke night or something


And man I don't know about you @hurricane but I feel 100% healthy! VA has taken good care of me and SFL really prepared me for life outside the service


PS... your son might be cool for enlisting, especially going Ranger (tell him turd batt or wurst batt. Fuck Washington), but he will never be "served in 3 wars even though it's physically impossible" cool.

Yeah he was bullshitting with his training. I was giving him an opportunity to unfuck himself. Then I just layed into him that day I called you. Even had a pushup contest with him. Lol. Cardiac hill good times.

He definitely shocked me with the enlistment. At first it was going to be human intelligence, then I get a call from his mom asking if I knew he was going infantry. I said no. So him and spoke and he said that this would best prep him for SF. I said go for it.

When I went through Selection a lot of the guys from batt would quit selection not cause it was hard but because the op tempo is slower compared to Ranger School. They'd get bored. Lol. It's all mental. Some selection courses are slow as shit others your constantly on the go. One thing for sure it's more mental then physical. Most soldiers going through these courses are in the top 10% physically. That's not an issue. The cadre knew who the officers were and they fucked with them hard. I saw many quit. They couldn't take an E-7 laying into them. Lol
