psa: keep your kids away from drugs of any kind

as the title says, please keep your kids away from drugs of any kind, even weed if your not open to buying it from a dispensary for them.

i'm not sure if it's just my area but you can't even buy a little bit of weed anymore without it being laced with some sort of opioid. i can't count the amount of times i smoked weed, and woke up in a hospital testing positive for fentanyl. i have no doubt that this has fucked up my dopamine system to no returns. i don't think il ever be the same person i once was.

seen this take many of my friends over these past couple of years and i know how people my age can be. i can't stress this enough, please keep your children safe, drugs aren't like how they were when you guys were younger.

While I agree with you about children and drugs and I can't smoke because I take hair follicle tests for work. I've never heard of or seen any issue with laced weed. I know plenty of people that regularly smoke/have a medical card and have never dealt with it either. It's probably more of a regional issue with fentanyl it's all meth heads around here.

Where I live high quality clean weed is the norm and easy to get. I don't use weed or any drugs that would likely be laced with fentanyl but it's my understanding that fairly cheap and easy to get kits that test for fentanyl. You can keep them in your pocket and use them wherever. Not sure if awareness about them or access is not good enough, but seems like anyone who uses rec street drugs should have those kits on hand at all times.

I've never heard of such a thing. It wouldn't make sense to do that. Dealers lace things that get you high because adding fentanyl will get you more high. Peptides and AAS don't get you high so they're not products that would get laced.
A lot of the cases of recreational drugs (weed, coke) having been contaminated with fentanyl are accidental. The dealer typically had a bunch of different bags of drugs and some cross contamination had occurred.

The fear of PED cross-contamination is one of the big reasons why this harm reduction community is so important.

It seems like the Chinese have cut down on the fentanyl production and shifted to production of only the precursors to sell to Mexico Cartels. I think we will all be fine and dandy as long as we don’t get any AAS or peptides from Mexico or from the gang bangers.

Let them be obsessed by a sport i never smoked even cigarettes never, never got drunk (and never drank more than a glass of wine and i was forced ) and i am 18

I live in Los Angeles, it's sad to see what fent has done to this city
Im not from Us but central/eastern europe and here is also sad. Probably not as bad as your opioid crisis but so many people are hooked on cocaine, meth, polish speed/amphetamine, toheather with alcohol. Ive seen many people lost themself in this stuff. Very sad, worst thing is when you see good friends that they know they have problem but are not able to stop.

I don't think there is any incentive for dealers to intentionally add fent to peptides or AAS - no one expects the kind of kick you expect from recreational drug from AAS and peptides.
I agree there isn’t really an economic incentive but then why is it showing up in cocaine, ecstasy, and meth where there still isn’t any economic incentive?

And an example of fentanyl laced marijuana A Rare Case of Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage Caused by Fentanyl-Laced Marijuana - PMC

This implies to me that it’s being unintentionally introduced to substances

Dealers can underdose their expensive cocaine, mdma, etc. and add cheap fentanyl so it's not immediately obvious from the weak effect that they've done so. There's a huge economic incentive to substitute cheap narcotics for expensive ones.

Nobody is putting opiates in weed for free, or by accident. It's something bored druggies experiment with sometimes. It's also an ancient urban legend (street weed laced with this year's moral panic drug, that is. I'm old enough to remember LSD and PCP laced weed being the story they told kids)

There's absolutely economic incentive in cutting uppers with fent. Dealers use less uppers, more cut and sprinke fent to make kids think the upper has a lot of kick. Hell, ecstasy tab you buy in a club may have no mdma in it - 2cb and fent or even caffeine and fent.

How is potentially killing your customer and changing the high from an upper to a downer an economic incentive? Nobody is going to buy from you after that. When I was a kid we didn’t really have fent but always rumors of x tabs being cut with stuff, if we didn’t like what we were sold from someone we didn’t buy from them again. I still think this is indicative of fentanyl being very easy to cross contaminate with other substances.

I literally posted a study where weed was laced with fent. I get it was an urban legend, was when I was growing up but I spent some time digging into if it was an urban legend this time and I don’t think it is. Too many real documented cases this time.

This is not how fent works,
