Let's start with this. Are you using luer lock syringes (detachable needles) or fixed needles like insulin pins? What gauge?

OK, with those harpoons you're really going to benefit from using filter spikes instead of (or in addition to) one time refiltration. Even quality stoppers will shed coring material from 23g pins.

Either way, spikes or a syringe filter (for sterilization) will require a switch to luer lock syringes.

By using a spike, you'll draw much faster and no longer need a separate needle. Filtered spikes will eliminate all coring particles, including other subvisible contaminants and a limited amount of bacteria if present:

guys if you were to refilter gear, would you put it back into 20ml vials? or back to standard 10ml vials?
or maybe even 30ml vials?

the only cons of 30/20ml vials is if you start using the vial and then the cycle end before you finished the vial and maybe that oil and caps that has been pinned already quite a few time it will be stored for a long time before getting used again. Another drawback is 20ml or 30ml vial get pinned 2x or 3x a normal 10ml vials as the liquid in it is more and so you will pin that rubber cap a lot more, maybe bringing possible contamination.

If you want to resterilize and transfer into another vial, you'll use a 25 or 33mm .22um or .2um sterile syringe filter. You'll draw the gear into a 10ml syringe (or 8-9ml for QSC vials), remove needle, attach syringe filter to syringe, attach needle to filter, and inject into sterile vial.

Depending on your location, US or otherwise, we can point you into the right direction for acquiring all this stuff. Feel free to ask any questions.

I started using the spikes a while back and they are a game change. However, I don't seem to be able to find them in the USA with a good quality filter attached.

There are some from BD in the US, but they're $12-20 each, vs $1.50 - $4 from Europe.

Altruan.de in Germany sells a variety at good prices and ships to nearly every country. US via DHL express is flat rate $28. The have peptide vial sized filtered spikes as well.
