Yeah, the prices are steep. Most other companies offer free shipping once you hit a certain price point, but QSC seems to offset their promo deals by charging for shipping—sometimes over $100—even though it probably costs them less than $10.

Their reasoning is probably that it covers a 'reship guarantee' if customs seizes the package, like an insurance fee. But honestly, that’s something you get with other UGLs for around $20 shipping, so it’s hard to justify the extra cost here.

Items that weigh far more and are far more valuable,

and yet I’ve paid either minimal or zero shipping costs.

Hey if a GLP drug keeps someone's appetite down and they lose weight and become healthier because of it, why in any way would that be a bad thing? Sure, they should learn to eat healthier as well, that should be mandatory but doesn't mean they can't use the drug for assistance. As long as they understand the possible sides and know that if they stop, the weight may come back. Just my thoughts.

When you've spent a lifetime putting significant value in "not being fat" as the primary thing that sets you above others in society's hierarchy, something erroneously conflated with personal character (as if the scrawny dude with the scraggly beard pumping gas has great "willpower"), you're gonna get mad as hell if you think that's going to be devalued by "cheaters".

I am calm. More specifically, I calmly offered him an opportunity to consolidate his thoughts and offer a retort. I suspect that he and I share the same opinion: which is that any response offered would likely not withstand much scrutiny, but I’m willing to be surprised.

I can definitely relate to this. At some point, ironically, when I was ~340lbs, I was of the opinion that if people didn’t meet my minimum bar for intelligence and competence they had no value and weren’t deserving of respect or compassion.
