TLDR: purer the better and safer, including doing what you can to reduce further degradation once in storage and after reconstitution.
This isn't like testing water, where all contaminants in the water are identified and measured, like arsenic, lead, etc.
It's a measure of how much of the peptide is the correct amino acid sequence that makes up that peptide.
The "other stuff" are amino acid sequences that are incorrect, from defective manufacturing adding or deleting amino acids. or damaged from degradation (light, heat, etc).
Here you can see "demon amino" sneaking into the peptide, waiting to lodge somewhere in your brain, starting a slow chain reaction that will melt your eyeballs a decade from now...
(only half joking here, as many degenerative brain diseases are linked to defective peptides/proteins)
Specifically identifying impurities requires "peptide mapping" which I've never seen performed on a UGL peptide. Pharma of course has to do this. identifying every impurity in their product, including pulling some off the shelf and identifying the degradation impurities that develop once the drug is in the hands of a customer.
Sometimes they're harmless, merely reducing potency of the drug, other times they're not harmless, essentially creating new, unidentified drugs. The FDA wants to see any new "impurity" greater than .10% specifically identified and the pharma company explain why it's not a concern. Over .50% is generally unacceptable and must be eliminated or the contaminant undergo comprehensive testing to demonstrate it's not harmful.
Some peptides already create such a strong immune reponse they're on the borderline of becoming a risk to health if it gets any worse. Those are on a list and given extra scrutiny for the presence of new contaminants with each new batch.
Whether a peptide is produced by a recombinant or synthetic process, impurities may result from the insertion, deletion, or modification of amino acid sequences or residues. These impurities can be controlled in the synthetic process. At low levels, consistent with batch-to-batch variability, they generally pose minimal pharmacological or toxicological risks that would affect safety or effectiveness. However, in some circumstances, peptide-related impurities may create the potential for differences in immunogenicity or may otherwise affect the safety or effectiveness of a peptide drug product. Just to give you a more complete understanding, here's one of the very few comprehensive impurity analysis of "street peptides", since there isn't much incentive for anyone to spend the money necessary to evaluate peptides as comprehensively as pharma:

Moreover, our analysis demonstrated the presence of toxic class one elemental impurities (inorganic As an Pb) next to the high variations in content and high amounts of API-related impurities in these samples and thus clearly illustrates the health risks users/patients face when resorting to falsified peptide drugs. Both Pb and inorganic As are known (genotoxic) elemental impurities which in acute intoxications or prolonged exposure may lead to adverse health effects on multiple vital organs and in some cases also result in lethal outcomes. The presence of concentrations up to ten times the known toxicity limits for parenteral drugs raises questions about the quality of chemicals used and the purification process.
Furthermore, the presence of certain related impurities such as dea-midations, insertion and deletion of amino acids and the formation of aggregates may lead to loss of functionality and even toxic effects. Most of the detected related impurities in these preparations (oxidations, deamidations, dimerformations,...) could also be induced during storage or handling under certain conditions.
Hence, demonstrating that next to the analysis of the API and synthesis artefacts also degradation products (specifically for peptides which were not subjected to preclinical or clinical trials) may not be neglected in the risk evaluation of falsified peptide drugs.
Taken together, the results of this study clearly demonstrate and confirm the suspicions that these products do not meet the required safety regulations regarding the purity of the API and chemical impurities in these preparations.
Consequently, the (sustained) administration of these preparations may result in adverse acute and chronic health effects.

I got my intl order in just over a week, which is pretty impressive this time of year. But I hope the packaging does get improved as I got a tiny paper-thin box that was crushed and it's very lucky that nothing was broken.
The vials were inside a actually kinda clever 'hiding in plain sight' fake packaging similar to a typical OTC med box, but nothing to really contain well if there was a spillThey were semi-protected by plastic as shown. The cute labels are my own. I do hope the pressed haters on here enjoy my cute little piggies.
There was absolutely no labeling/numbering of any kind anywhere. I deliberately made a small odd-numbered order figuring that might be the case. I would like if there could be some kind of label on, even just a number, if I were to make a larger more complicated order. And consider better quality box + a ziploc bag & bubble wrap at least, post office is seriously rougher on boxes by the month these days. I've gotten more and more boxes actually delivered in busted wide open condition, luckily I live where there is no porch pirate issue yet.
