There is a fine print on the cobetter website that's says customer is responsible for all customs and import duties.. can someone elaborate on that for me
Hate to keep asking so many questions. But when it specifies "Air venting" does that mwan it's made to where I will not have to use a vent needle.. ive never read thelar particular specification before....If it's under $800 it's duty free.
(the de minimus exemption)
No worries man, i know it has been hard keeping up with this thread with all the discussion happening tonightYeah I apologize it was humbke-beast.. i took a xouoke of somas earlier.. my bad...
I believe air venting just refers to one of the uses of a filter with ptfe membrane. They are sometimes used to pull moisture out of air as it passes throughHate to keep asking so many questions. You’re a good dude Ghoul. It’s nice you provide so much free information and harm reduction techniques. I appreciate the advice you’ve given me and my friends via PM and the time you’ve taken out of your day to help complete strangers. I misread you initially and I would like to publicly apologize for the mean and rude things I’ve said to and about you.@Dirthand
Ask whatever you want brother, that never bothers me.
Missed's answer is correct. PTFE is used to filter air vents on equipment requiring dry, sterile air.

If you will check out some compatibility charts PTFE is the beat rated membrane for all silvents and chemicals.. according to all the searching I have done.. I have experienced nylon being slow as well... and those fucking plastic media bottle that come with bottletop filters has cracked in me before as well.. the best place for them is definitely the trash!!!I have always done well with Millipore PVDF, works great with EO and Guaiacol (When I used a lot of TNE). You just have to adjust the temperature and psi.
Nylon sucks, worst of the 3, blows right up, clogs and gets slow. I have never tried PTFE.
Millipore got better years back when they started making them thicker, handles more heat and psi than it did years back. Years back they were much more available as well. They used to crack and leak.
Glass media bottle instead of that plastic junk and a brake bleeder pump, plastic pumps are garbage!
I keep hearing about PTFE, it has been a thought but I'm so use to and adjusted to Millipore for about 15 years now.If you will check out some compatibility charts PTFE is the beat rated membrane for all silvents and chemicals.. according to all the searching I have done.. I guess what I meant by compatible is durability. If you will check out some compatibility charts PTFE is the beat rated membrane for all silvents and chemicals.. according to all the searching I have done.. Nothing spoils your day more than filtering the last 100mls of a 500ml batch via a bottle top setup , and then you see bubbles rising to the surface from the bottom plastic collection bottle. If you will check out some compatibility charts PTFE is the beat rated membrane for all silvents and chemicals.. according to all the searching I have done.. I have a few of the millipore sterocups 1000ml packed up.. i used a couple of them when I first started and I think they were the reason some of my gear come out cloudy, but i can say for certain. ... I figure i may use them for things with lower bb % like Test E and EQ. It is hard to find PTFE sterile bottle top filters... KS-TEK said they would nake some but it would be a coupke of months out.. that was about 2 months ago i never checked back with them. I've just been usung syringe filters and vialing everything up as I make it. I was doing bottletop filter and syringe filter but after I did some sterility testing both ways I found it to be unnecessary...I keep hearing about PTFE, it has been a thought but I'm so use to and adjusted to Millipore for about 15 years now.
The tops used to crack and leak, it's why I shy away from cheaper models, but Millipore a few years back started making the clear plastic much thicker than in the past. They just keep jacking up the price and for about 4 years now only 2 places in the US sell them.
Amazon had them a few years back but at some point they become less available unless from GPZ or Med Labs.
Nalgene is the only brand I tried nylon, maybe other brands have better.
I am curious to what new companies out there are comparable to Millipore.
I don't have a cloudy issue with Millipore, BB at 20% no issue.I have a few of the millipore sterocups 1000ml packed up.. i used a couple of them when I first started and I think they were the reason some of my gear come out cloudy, but i can say for certain. ... Gonna find out the cops have a sense of humor when they toss us all into Quentin State Correctional with the rest of the "customers" of this massive setup lol
