I think the heat from authorities had a lot to do with this. They could have been kicking his door down momentarily, or maybe he decided to shut down as a preventative measure.
I just don't think he would have suddenly dropped a smoke bomb and vanished like this if he was planning to come back and continue doing business. He would have made an announcement about the closure and fulfilled all of the orders that had been made, then he would have closed. He can't expect anyone to trust him after this. He's proven that he will accept money and then go dark. That's the worst thing a person can do when it comes to online transactions, is it not?
In my opinion, the cops were either en route to his office or he's decided to exit the market altogether.
That being said, this entire shitshow would be par for the course in terms of Tracy's customer service gaf. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he comes back in a few months like "what? i told you idiots what was going on."
