Please try again. You addressed nothing and presume much. If you want to argue against the imaginary bullshit in your head, please do so without troubling the rest of us with it.

Do you know how many universities begin faculty meetings with an "Acknowledgement" that they're occupying stolen land?

Or employees of corporations forced to sit in a circle and acknowledge their racial "privilege", or risk losing their jobs? Literal Maoist struggle sessions. What a coincidence. Who would've thought this possible outside of North Korea just 20 years ago?

Don't try to divest yourself of the abhorrent, but widespread, institutionalized beliefs of the left.

It's the same shit every time. The veil is lifted, the public revolts, suddenly all the leftists are "non-partisan patriots", until the sheep fall asleep and they get back into office, and go back to their pursuit of America's "managed decline".

(don't worry, I'm sure you guys will win in the end, though whether in your lifetime or not remains to be seem. They didn't call it the "short march through the institutions" after all)

Isn’t that an example of modern mythology? When we were kids, the ongoing theory was so he could administer autofellatio, but then some asshole blasted that teenage boy dream.
Teenage boys dream?! Are you telling me I finally convinced the VA to remove some ribs and its all for naught?
Yeah, the time dilation problem is another one of my favorites. The video Middus posted goes into it about halfway through. It’s even funner to consider what happens if that spaceship ever turns around and heads back towards the observer.
I like to consider what happens to the people in the spaceship if it stops on a dime. lol

Well, political discourse in a source thread = bad. This thread has become a dumpster fire.
In this thread? Of least concern.

Was a dumpster fire even when the cheap gear was flowing.

Still no disclaimer on MIA source.

Do you know

You’re re a silly man. You imagine I feel some kind of way about the military, unions, scabs, and brown people and at this point I have no idea what you’re on about.

My assertion was this: illegal immigrants represent a source of cheap labor in this country. That phenomenon is ingrained into the US economy and comes with certain benefits. Once removed that will have an effect and I am not sure it will be the desired effect along the people so eager to address the issue.

I don’t have any kind of feelings about the situation other than maybe some concern about the validity of my analysis. With or without the continuous supply of cheap labor my life will continue with very little impact. I don’t see it as a problem that needs to be solved urgently, or really at all. I agree that it’s an inconsistent application of law and when reality and policy diverge, that’s something that should be addressed, but there are much larger issues facing this country.

Before you presume what I think those are, do ask first. I’m not eager to read another diatribe against demons in your head.

Not touching politics with a 10ft pole, but just want to provide a data point here. The military commissioned me maybe not because I had an astrophysics degree, but specifically because they thought I could figure shit out on my own without being taught. They dropped us off once on the busy New York Elizabeth River in a 1600 ton mine clearing vessel and told us to figure it out by ourselves. And we did.

After 5 years, I decided to go enlisted because there were talks about taking a lot of the units out of the field and having us be more involved in politics (long story). The ASVAB was laughably easy, and I couldn’t believe there were people who actually failed it. Depending on what your score is, you get to choose your MOS. Some jobs require a higher score, but everybody gets shoved into the same basic training (except infantry and commissioned). And I will say some of those guys were dumber than a bag of dicks and I couldn’t believe the Army was trusting them with M4’s/M16’s and grenades. Conversely, some were the high speed high ASVAB scorers and kept me sane when the idiots would get us smoked.

So it’s a mixed bag, depending on what section of the military you fall in. Like any job, I imagine. Only something like 1% of the US pop is in the military, but it’s still a pretty good representation of the diversity of America.
The big green weenie really got me from day one. I had a GT high enough that would have (within reason) let me pick what I wanted. Well I had a possession charge on my record and they told me you can’t have any job that needs a security clearance. Ok, I could get airborne school with generator mechanic so off I went. While I am in basic, I get pulled into a small room and these two guys start asking me about how many times I got high and a bunch of shit I done remember now. Then I was asked if my recruiter told me to lie about how many times I got high so I could get in. I squealed like a little pig. Glad I threw that fucker under the bus. Anyway, one day I am looking at my ERB(Enlisted Record Brief) and I noticed that I have a secret security clearance and the date matches when I was in basic! That was the first time they got me but damn for sure not the last.

You are wild for going to enlisted from commission. Idk who you even talk to about this but did they look at you crazy when you asked?

I agree with you also. The military is a beautiful place. People from all walks of life coming together to complete a common goal. The respect that I have for some of the people I served with is hard to put into words. On the other hand, the army needs ditch diggers too and they had plenty of them.
