The scrutiny thingy is a bit overhyped. They promise capacity but it's actually harder to fulfill. There's still a huge recruitment gap in customs and they will lose over 15% of senior staff to retirement this year. They already lost about 5% starting fall this year and congress is still fighting for funds to scale up. Most of the hiccups may come from proposed changes to USPS, but yeah. Things will still be porous. Just not as free for all as 22/23 to early 24.New tariffs and increased border scrutiny. No unlabeled white powders coming into the US or Canada will go unchecked or unsiezed. The next millionaires will be people who know international logistics well enough to evade tariffs and customs. Our grey market will just turn into another black market.
If they decide to scrutinize all packages however, I suspect that UGL will not be the primary immediate worry..
