Question About Ad-Aware Software

We had a tech guy come over to the house the other day. He didn't do a whole lot. ( Aside from run ad-aware and tell me I needed a new firewall ) Anyway, the firewall thing is taken care of. But my trial of ad-aware has expired. And now it's pop up central again. How much does that disk go for? And, can you just copy it if you know someone who has it already? I'm sure I could track someone down. I'm sure it's not that expensive. But hey, I'm a cheap jew.

Ad-Aware Plus costs money, the basic version is free. I think Ad-aware Plus has a few more features, not sure what they are - never checked.

i downloaded spybot. I think it has helped. It made Kazaa not work anymore, so I had to reinstall that. So I still have all of the adware from Kazaa, but I think it's taken care of the rest of it. My computer is only slow now when I have Kazaa running. Plus you can go back and undo anything that spybot does, for example if it gets rid of something that you need, it is easy to replace it. Do any of you know what I can do about the Kazaa spyware. I also tried Kazaa Lite or Diet Kazaa, whatever it was called, and didn't work either. One I restarted my computer, Kazaa said that it would not run because critical programs had been removed.

Yeah, you can take Kazaa off of your computer. It's spyware. So is morpheus and Limeware. Also, spybot is a good program but doean't detect as much as ad aware does.

I used to have many problems when i had another firewall,spyware detector,and popup blocker,but now i've been just fine for many months with Zone Alarm firewall,Ad-aware spyware remover,and i surf through Mozilla,so i don't know what popups are anymore. All these programs are free,because FREE is one of my favorate words and i use Limewire for downloading music and videos. I run the Ad-aware everytime i download and i usually only find spyware sometimes. Kazza won't let you delete their spyware,which is why it sucks. Limewire tells you how many files you are shareing and i always make sure it says 0

You shouldnt have any problem with Klite i didnt think. if u need it let me know. I have given it to a couple of guys over im. My cpu runs alot better off klite than it did with kazaa. Ask dolphe how his is doing. he was having problems b4 also i believe

Thick, what would be the difference between you giving it to me and me downloading it. It's free isn't it. My cpu runs like shit only when Kazaa is running, so I definitely need to do something about it. When Kazaa is off, my cpu is fast as hell. I'll get lite from you if I there is a reason to.

You will be protected from viruses, spyware and popups. It sounds way too simple, but I haven't had a virus, spyware or pop-ups for as long as I can remember.
Ad-Aware professional constantly monitors for spyware in the same manner as Norton.

Another good one is called Bullet Proof Software, Thay have a free version that's good for a week (I think) The Pay version is 25.00.
I like it cause, you can scan your computer any time and remove any spyware/adware in your system. (I guess they all do this)
If you go on the internet, your going to get adware.
This is not a firewall, you still need Zone Alarm.
I also have Norton 2004. Between all this, I never get pop ups anymore, plus the adware slows down the computer.

It's a good idea to clean out the computer once a week.
Also go to the top of the screen, hit tools, internet options, than erase all cookies, temp files, and history. This will make your system cleaner.

Use Spybot S&D and there is a link to SpywareBlaster in it.. Download and use both. Wont change your home page, no pop ups etc.. and its all free.

OK, I got Kazaa Lite and ad-aware. My computer was instantly fixed. It's working great and fast as hell, even when Kazaa is on. All the spyware and adware is finally gone too. This is great. Thanks all.

I could get the toolbar, it's just that it will take up some space on the top of my screen, meaning the porn that I view will be that much smaller. Then again, I have a huge monitor so what the hell. I just posted another computer question in a new thread. See if you guys can help me there. All in all, this was a great day for my computer.
