Question About Ad-Aware Software

glad to hear it. NEU are u avoiding me lmao. Toolbar isnt stopping the damn popups anymore  what do i do

Well if you have popups, then you have Spyware on your computer, so run Ad-Aware.
First make sure you update your definitions and then first run
1. Smart System Scan AND THEN
2. Select Drives to Scan (just check off your hard drive)
(many people only run one of those options, instead of both, which leaves spyware on the computer)

Also make sure your toolbar say "#BLOCKED" and not "Site PopUps Allowed", you mayb have clicked that button by accident.
Honestly I have never seen a popup get by the toolbar.

Worst case scenario, got Add/Remove programs in the control panel and remove the Google Toolbar, and then reinstall it from HERE . It shouldn't take more than 25 seconds to do the uninstall and reinstall.

Try those options and I'm 99% sure you will be back to new.

I could get the toolbar, it's just that it will take up some space on the top of my screen, meaning the porn that I view will be that much smaller. :D Then again, I have a huge monitor so what the hell. I just posted another computer question in a new thread. See if you guys can help me there. All in all, this was a great day for my computer.

I got 2 19" LCD Flat Panel Displays, on the swinging arm mounts. ($1300 each, although I didn't pay that) I can do my regular computer work and chat on AIM on one screen and full screen porn on the other, OR my preferred method, have about 4 different porns goin at once :D

On a side note, I have 2 more of them to sell if anyone wants a sick monitor (You can watch HDTV on these things) and a brand new $2000 computer I have fully loaded with software and customized. Gimme an offer.

ok, i redid the google toolbar and I still got another popup. i am on klite as we speak trying to get adaware. I might already have adaware. i dont friggin know what i have anymore lol. Thanks alot

I forgot to mention this before. After downloading Ad-Aware Professional, you have to uninstall any previous versions of Ad-Aware and install PRO, and then you have to download the free version from download.com and install that. Doesn't make sense but, its what you have to do.
(The core software for professional is version 1.62 and all new Ad-Aware are version 1.81, and Ad-Aware will only allow virus definition updates if you have 1.81)

You will then have a full functioning Ad-Aware, which takes some tweaking in the options to have it work the best. Its like a 20 minute project, but can save you hours of frustration. The key part of professional is Ad-Watch which is the program that always monitors your computer for spyware, like norton does.

In the settings you want to make sure that you check off all the buttons that mention ad-watch being on and loading on startup

I need to get a fuckin IT job and start getting paid for this shit. I hate being unemployed.
Goodluck,
Lata

i think i will just close the popups. i wondered what ad watch or whatever was that showed up on my desktop. Something happened last week b/c Now when my cpu starts an error message starts up with it. I hate these things. take care
