Question on 10% overdose on brewing

Apologize if this has been answered having a hard time searching for it. I’m probably overthinking it..

I’m looking to overdose my testosterone cypionate brew by 10%. Would the amount of oil needed change as well to accommodate displacement? Or would I just base it on the original dosage?

example original recipe: 100ml Of Test Cyp @ 200mg/ml
20g of powder
18%BB = 18ml
2%BA = 2ml
61.82ml MCT oil

10% overdose recipe: 100ml of Test Cyp @220mg/ml
22g of powder
18%BB = 18ml
2%BA = 2ml
61.82ml MCT oil (or is this now going to be: 60ml MCT oil?)

I’m thinking the MCT would still stay at the 61.82ml correct, regardless if I’m overdosing by 10%?

The amount does not change. Calculate everything as 200mg/ml for 100ml then when you add your raw only then add 10% and keep all other measurements as from previous

I know this is just splitting hairs, but I’m curious if this is any different/better then just actually making it at 220mg/ml with all the respective oil, raw, bb, and ba amounts and just writing on the label that’s it’s 200mg/ml, 10% overdosed.

Calculating the measurements and using amounts for 220, 10% overdose would then be 242mg/ml

For your origanal recipe.. wouldn’t that come out to about 240mg/ml?

If 20g equals 20,000mg.
81.82ml in total liquid.
20,0000 divided by 81.82 equals 244mg per ml

well I’m doing 200mg/ml at 100ml total.

so 61.82ml in MCT
2ml BA
18ml BB
Total is 81.82

since I’m using 20g of powder the displacement is 1g/.909ml
Total 18.18ml displacement

I believe when you calculate the 20000mg since it’s diluted in a total of 100ml you divide: 20,000 / 100 = 200mg/ml

rather then 20,000 / 81.82. I did it by hand and using basskiller raw calculator to double check. Pretty sure the dose would still be at 200 with those #’s

I would say different because when you’re attempting to dose it at exactly 220mg/ml you’re doing so under the impression you have 100%purity on your raws. Most times you probably don’t and when you have your finished product you may end up slightly under. I’ll be using this for TRT at some point so I’d like for it to be accurate.

by overdosing 5%-10% you’re somewhat accounting for not having a 100% purity on your raws to get the dose more accurate if that makes sense.

so if I have a raw product at 95% purity and treat it as 100%; rather than 220mg/ml I’ll end up with 209mg/ml. When you overdose you can take that loss into account and be more accurate if you know the purity of your raws.

Edit: reread your comment. I guess if you’re labeling the vial at 200mg/ml but brewing at 220mg/ml there’s really not much difference lol.

I need to find this calculator. I’m guess multiple people have used it and tested their product after testing raw purity as well.

Of cypionate powder, correct. All powders have different displacements/powder weight per gram. The website link below on the calculator gives you a few commonly used. There’s a thread here that goes into detail on almost all the displacement/powder weight, just can’t find it right now and forget who posted it.

yup, so from your post you’re only factoring the total mL of the carrier oil, BB and BA. When you add the powder it adds to the overall finished product coming out to the 100ml. Easiest way to think about it is, if you fill a bathtub and get in - the water will rise right? When you add the 20g of powder into the 81.82ml of oil/bb/ba it should displace 18.18ml when fully dissolved bringing the total to 100ml.
