quick deadlift question

I know there is a sticky on this but wanted to start a new thread so it would get noticed. Is it normal to scrape your shins when you dead? I do it every fucking time and it doesn't matter if I'm wearing sweats or shorts I always tear my shins up and end up with blood dripping down my legs. It doesn't hurt right away but is f'ing annoying when I hit the shower afterwards. I just feel that if I try to pull the weight and keep it further in front of me I get too much lower back in it and not enough hips/glutes/legs.
It doesn't happen until I get to about 500lbs. so maybe my form starts going when I get to heavier weight.
What do you think?

If you Deadlift right...Yup...If you dont like it switch the half deads and stiff legged instead. Every cpl deadlift days ,m y shins bleedif i catch em just right. I usually dont notice it until my set is over though.

Bleeding shins just means that you are keeping the weight close to your center of gravity.I have known more than a few competitive powerlifters that that walked away from deads bleeding. You could always switch to sumo.

It doesn't really bother me that much as I feel like I am in my groove when I do them. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. Thanks!

AAhh the wonderfull pain of bloody shins..
yuup youre doing them right.

If the shins need a break try doing some mod heavy good
mornings with lower back arched, locked in position, with
chest up high..
Do this for a couple weeks and add weight when appropriate
(Do NOT break form!!)

Guarantee your deadlift will go up while the shins grow some
leather back..

my .o2

cheers
