Race to 500lb Deadlift

Well I will jump on board with this. I was able to pull 405x2 and damn near had a third. I haven't really done much deadlifting in years up to this point. Coach told me my hips were coming upnto fast as well, trying to get that in check. I am on week 2 of this strength program and am really curious to see how it all progresses.

You could have got more than 405 you are in the same boat as me.... just need to get the best form down that works for ya
 
Well today was my max effort lower day and it had a max triple for rack pulls (never done them before) on the to do list. 505x3 is where I stopped. @545 my grip gave out. Had some ole meat head at the gym give me some solid advise on ways to change a few movements to target certain areas. Sure is nice to have some people who take the time to help and share a wealth of knowledge and introduce me to this group. I guess I need to get the ole diet tweaked and stop bullshiting around. Will try to get it all lined out this weekend and try to run a log the best I can over the course of the program my guy has me on currently.

You would have had that 545 if it was a regular bar and not one of the rack pull bars those
Thing suck at gripping! That’s why I use those bars to strengthen up my grip.

Also thanks for the hookup on the lever belt!
 
135 x 12 pause reps
225 x 10 fast
315 x 8 fast
405 x 3
475 x 1 with a drop (I know this wouldnt count)

No straps. No belt.





You're pretty much there. Do you have access to a deadlift bar? That and a belt and you're probably 500+ right now.
 
I have a belt but I don't like the way it feels and only have access to the bars at the gym and the one use is pretty much the same as all of them.

Yeah, I had to buy my deadlift bar. It's the one they use in my federation, so I like training with it. Is your belt too wide and interferes with your setup?
