Great fucking thread @Leancuisine. Fucking Crefolo Dollar got that fucking Jet. Fuck him. The congregation made most the payments through tithes and donations in church. He also has or had Evander Holyfield as a member there and Usher and a few other celebs. This is the reason I don't like church. They have an agenda and it is all for personal gain. They don't have to pay taxes since they are a Mega Church and everything they do is still write off. It's so bad down here in the south the "Bible Belt". Almost the radical Islamist. This families have their kids giving money to the church. My wife was raised like that from her very first job as a teenager she was giving 10% of her earnings to the church. FUCK THAT!!! I don't agree with it. I go to church with my wife I hear the bullshit spewing from the pastors mouth. One example is; he will say before the offering starts "Those who don't tithe won't receive any blessings" I sit there and look around at all these brainwashed idiots just saying AMEN. Fuck that I have never tithed and I have received numerous blessings. I have returned in one piece from numerous deployments, I have received numerous other blessings with out ever giving 10% of my earrings to another mortal. That is used most likely for him. My pastor has numerous properties a bridal business and he has tailored suits while the poor people in the church feed into this shit and give him money that they need to pay bills feed the family.

He should go to hell for taking money from the poor to better himself.

So I went out on a boat today with my buddy. So this 28 year old woman is telling me how tough things have been since her friend passed away in a plane crash. Whatever. Not to sound heartless, but people die. Move on. Anyways, we continue our conversations amongst the group and it comes up to a point where I say the words "Jesus Christ" literally all I said. And this woman goes off on me. Well while she's going off on me I say "god damn woman" and then she explodes and tells me I'm going to hell. I was pretty calm. I just replied with "if your god is willing to overlook all the good I've done in this life and condemn me to an eternity of torment because I said some naughty words, I don't want to follow him"
Anyways her 32 year old boyfriend (all these people are older than me, mind you) goes off on me saying I need to be more respectful, as this lady goes to the front of the boat and starts crying.

I've met Hindus, Muslims (both extremists and "modest"), christians (most of whom are wild), and whatever other first world religions there are.
I haven't been a lot of places, but I've been enough places to see that religion only revolves around one thing. Money.
Religion breeds war over territories. Territories with resources and power over people, which brings in money.
Fuckin Olsteen whoever and Creflo dollar rack in cash like it's their fucking job.
Not to mention, with Christianity, why is the only way that christians could be allowed into heaven was through the murder of a carpenter?
Is somebody were to have their son bound in the trunk of their car, driving them to the top of a mountain to sacrifice them for the "god" that was speaking to them ominously, they would be labeled crazy and charged with attempted murder, yet this same story (with the exception of the car) is told to children as the ultimate test of faith!?
Fuck no. No one is worth sacrificing my son for. No one.

I believe religion has good morals in it, but I'm not religious at all. Quite the opposite. And I have decent morals. The only thing I judge people on is how they fucking drive. Outside of that I don't give a shit.

Who even knows what's right or wrong? History is written by the victors. To us George Washington is a hero. He did what was right for the people of America. But what if America had lost the Revolution? King George 3 would have written history and said what good ol G Washington did was outrageous.

Believe in god if you want. Just don't be a fucking stuck up cunt like this woman was.

The words I highlight was a great response. Like you many of us have done lots good. Just because we aren't religious doesn't mean we are condemned. I could read the bible in the confines of my home and interpret it for what I believe it to be, not what some other man is telling it means. GTFO!!!!

Church down here is like High School in the sense that everyone seems to put on their best outfit. They might not get dressed up all week. But come Sunday they look their best.

Not everyone is that way. But the majority of christians are horrible people. Just like that lady from yesterday. Super judgemental. Her boyfriend was actually a super nice dude. So when we got off the boat I was helping him carry some stuff up to his car. So I was just telling him how I didn't mean to ruin anybodies time and didn't expect her to get so offended. He said it was fine. No harm no foul. As he opens the car door (his gf was sitting in the passenger seat) she says "if he's going out, we're not"

Lol ok lady. I would have made her find her own ride home with that attitude.

Yup I had two pins in there too. I was messing around with one of them one day and ended up pulling one out about an inch. Said fuck it and yanked both of them out. Didn't hurt. Just bled a little.
My middle knuckle isn't really in its natural position... pretty sunken in, but oh well. All I cared about was being able to grab things. Which I can.

What's funny to me is, the most judgmental, selfish, cruel people I have meet ironically had a common denominator. They labeled themselves as ardent christians.

Like these isis scumbags claiming to be doing gods will killing, raping, and stealing in the name of allah.

I will say though that I have meet extremely religious people that do walk the walk.

My opinion might sound elementary but here it is. Something created this universe right? Ok if not "God" the Big Bang correct? Ok if so then where did the elements that created the Big Bang come from? You can't make something from nothing. So something created the Big Bang. Particles or something. But where did they come from? Let's say they came from X? Where did X come from? It never ends!! Every fucking thing came from something so since there's no explanation then that something is some unknown super power or better yet if that started the universe that is expanding every day for ever where did the "space" come from?

By space I mean actual space like your bedroom has X amount of cubic space. So they want me to believe that all this , meaning earth and everything in or on it is a coincidence? Some will say well scientific proof is that we evolved over time and our bodies started growing things like hair ears eyes??? Really??? If so why have we stopped evolving? No gills ? No wings? All this was a accident?

To me some scientific fact are like religion. Someone told and story then wrote a book about said story and said see it's true. Kinda like some science. Someone says this is how it happened then someone else came up with a test or experiment that proved someone's theory was correct. To me it explains the reason they at the Hadron Collider can't seem to get closer to the Big Bang of the moment of one/one billionth of a second AFTER the Big Bang!

I believe that as much as some figure in the sky created this. What or who is it?? Fuck I have no idea? But until someone can explain some of these questions to me then I'll believe in a higher power!

Evolution happens. There's no way anyone can deny that. People evolve/adapt to live wherever they are. Animals do the same.

i wish I could see what humans looked like a thousand years ago, and I wish I could see what they will look like 1000 years in the future. Guarantee there are massive differences between everyone, not only aesthetically, but anatomically and physiologically as well.

Wonder if people will be able to kee records of the pictures we take today for thousands of years so they can look back. If earth even lasts this long.
Speaking of. If humans migrated to another planet, I bet they would look vastly different. Like an entirely new species maybe. This shit is interesting to me.

Yes I am a religious man. I love my savior Jesus Christ. But I would never tell you or anyone they're going to burn in hell or that they're a bad person. I'm not Catholic but an Anglican(church of England). What I do find offensive and I guess funny is that @Leancuisine has the courtesy to say he won't bash religion or peoples opinion, but many others posted about how Christianity is stupid, believing in God is worthless and so on. Religion...whether judaism islam or christianity is about control and power.
In the case of christianity...belief in God and the work of Christ are meant to bring about an individual change to the believer through a one on one relationship with Christ.
Unfortunately for christianity as a whole...it has become populated by hipocrites...con men masquerading as pastors and judgemental assholes.
Being a christian doesnt mean your perfect...it does mean that you strive to do the right thing and honor God in how you nlive your life.
I pretty much fail miserably at this.
However...and this next part is my second passion in life next to the gym...as one starts to delve into the world and the workings of the cosmos and tiny things at a cellular and sub atomic level...you find that at every turn there is intentional design.
Our existence is the result of a purposeful willfull design.
At every level of biological genetics dna and the sub atomic world of quarks protons neutrons etc there are massive amounts of information relative to the function of our existance.
What is responsible for this info?
Man calls it God.
Whether its the God of Christianity or another universal power no one knows...period.
You can believe that it is your God that you worship but in the end no one knows which if any of the known "gods" are responsible for all we know.
There is a "God" for lack of a better term. All evidence in our existence if viewed with an open mind points to design not random chance.
Design order and info require intelligence.
I could make this a book but you get the idea....
Christians muslims and jews that get butt hurt by questions that affect their limited world view are typically reacting out of a fear that what they were taught to "believe" is being turned upside down.
OP's experience with the woman telling him he will burn in hell is a typical reaction.
My advice if you care is to study the sciences...ancient history...etc with an open mind and let the studies lead you to your own conclusion.
