Okay, I know this isn't Mother Hubbard's recipe-sharing board, but I think I've finally perfected my healthy body-building (& energizing) French toast formula. I only cook it up on Sunday mornings, but some of you with a frustrated sweet tooth may enjoy trying it any day you want:

2 or 3 whole eggs
scoop of vanilla flavoured whey protein mix (at least 40 g protein)
splash of milk
thick slices of multigrain bread
fresh butter & a real fruit jam

Put your serving plates in the oven to keep them warm. I take two jumbo sized or three regular sized eggs, throw in a scoop of the protein mix, splash on a bit of milk then blend with my handheld blender. Then I add about four slices of bread, dipping each one at a time to coat both sides before putting them in the thick liquid for at least 10 minutes to soak up as much as possible. It's helpul to turn the bread slices over changing the order at least once as well. Nothing left but to put the fying pan on medium-high, toss in a bit of oil, and fry each slice of bread long enough to brown each side but fast enough to keep it juicy in the middle. When the slices are done, I take the warm plates from the oven, pop the French toast on, and then slaver on the butter. (Hey, it's healthy energy!) A healthy real fruit spread is suggested, but I admit that I cannot resist good old Canadian maple syrup sometimes. Enjoy without guilt!

Nice idea, post-workout, but I'm usually too thirsty to eat so it's the shakes for me.

Guy needs a regular intake of protein too, whenever he can, so why not first thing in the morning?

We need more posts like this, with new high protein food ideas.

I tried a new one the other day: Goya roasted coconut juice with pulp and 2-3 scoops creamy vanilla whey protein.
I shit you not, it was the best drink I've had in years.
Like Arnold says, "It was better than coming!"
