Reduced appetite while dieting

Hey guys, i have started cutting from 20% body fat for about a month. Before i didn’t use intermediate fasting while cutting but with this cut i am doing it and it has reduced my appetite after breaking the fast. I am hovering around 2100 calories a day. 178cm tall and my weight is 100kg.
Do you have any idea why is that the case and if it is healthy to continue?

Sounds like your body has adjusted to the Intermittent fasting. All kinds of things could be going on. Could be you've accustomed your body enough to it that your stomach isnt producing as much Ghrelin. So you aren't as hungry as often. (One of the benefits of intermittent fasting)

Maybe your stomach has shrunk a little so it's not wanting as much food. Could be your metabolism has slowed down and with it your hunger.

I would be shocked if it was "unhealthy" to continue. If you don't like it try coming off the intermittent fasting and take a 2 or 3 day refeed day and eat a few thousand calories a day but spaced out over 5 or 6 meals and see how your body reacts.

With all things.. if you're concerned that it may medically be a problem discuss it with your physician. No one here can accurately diagnose you on a message board.

That said, I'd change things up first and see how my body reacted. If you're 20% body fat it might be a blessing and you might just wanna roll with it and take advantage of it until you hit 12-14% then reevaluate.

I am just curious about the medical health. though i feel better being on intermediate fasting. Just the hunger when i wake up is unbearable for about one to two hours.

Lol.. yeah, I've been around for a few. Used to be a Mod here even.

I think the status thing is about consistency with posting. I go through spells where I am just too busy with work, my teenage boy's sports and the wife to maintain a regular presence.

The "new member" status thing doesn't bother me. Those who know.. know.

There are a few real deal Heavy hitters here who have less than a 100 posts who coach IFBB pros and a couple more who could add 200 lbs to an already elite powerlifter's total in less than a year. You can find em by reading the training and the nutrition forums.

That's the beauty of intermittent fasting. A huge reduction in appetite.

Your body basically just adapted to the fasting. You can find articles with a much more in depth explanation with scientific jargon and whatnot but that's the long and skinny of it.
