This is a fascinating interview. Joe Rogan and Lance Armstrong talk about the whole god damn thing.

I hadn't thought much about the guy since he blew himself up on Oprah in 2013. Im sure you remember. Lance Armstrong's Confession

I respect the guy. Ok sure, he can be a dick at times but the guy can out work a duramax. He won on an even playing field so as far as im concerned Lance Armstrong = 7 x Tour De France Champ.

Yep - the even playing field is the key - was there even a single natty racer? Don't we all want to see cutting edge performance? Lance the Champ!

Hell, I can understand why he fought it for so long.. I think he brings it into perspective very well in the interview... so much riding on one man. Cant imagine the pressure.

Wonder what kind of shape his bank account is in these days?

wasn't he also dealing with cancer?

Heck yea he was.

"In 1996, his own aggressive form of testicular cancer metastasized into his lymph nodes, lungs and brain. Armstrong underwent two surgeries, one to remove his cancerous testicle and another to remove two cancerous lesions on his brain. Over a three-month period, he received four rounds of chemotherapy"

The guy is an outstanding athlete. You can't take that away from him, but when you know that the jig is up, you might as well come clean. There was no way of getting out of it. I think it is safe to assume that he was not the only one out there doping.

Hell I would have done the same. I'm no one to cast stones.

Great video. If you have a few hours of spare time on your hands check out his book, "It's not about the bike." It is a quick read and has very few boring parts. He doesn't mention anything about doping or PED's but it gives great insight into what he was going through during his battle with cancer and his comeback. In retrospect, I can see he was not natural at the time, especially during the comeback. But to expect he was the only one on something is kind of like expecting Phil Heath to be the only competitor in the past Mr. Olympia to be on gear.

@Outlier "But to expect he was the only one on something is kind of like expecting Phil Heath to be the only competitor in the past Mr. Olympia to be on gear."

Agreed. Good comparison.

Most people, myself included, were / are ignorant to what it takes to be a professional athlete at the top of the field in ANY discipline,..especially cycling. We have TEAMS of celebrity football basketball baseball hockey players. Cycling we had ONE GUY! With that kind of demand and pressure and the top competitors in the field ALREADY use?... the jump to AAS / PED is nothing.

I respect him for keeping it real and having the BALL to fall own his sword on Oprah in front of.. everyone. Hell,.. play the big boy game, pay the big boy price!

I got a nice history
My boss was a semi professional cyclist 20 years ago..he's 50 now still cycling..
He knows I'm on gear and we talk about it..
Back then they teams doctor use to administrate steroids to them
Traveling from country to country with suitcases of gear..
He says epo..b12...some kind of test pill..He didn't have a clue what he was taking.. Just taking it like every one else lol...
That was more than 20 years ago..

I remember hearing about transfusions and increased oxygenation etc. Diddnt realize they created a pill that could do that. Hell, I want to try it!

He said to me
They got pay doctors to do gear custom for every cyclist... Pharmaceutical companies lol
And he was just semy professional...
Everybody is at it ... Just the doctors are smart to get away
And probably paying for it too
Armstrong won 7 I'll given that
