We should end this by stating.
Christians based their faith ultimately on the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is immaterial, but at the same time 1 in 3 of the trinity, so it is God to the Christian.
Can we detect the Holy Spirit....nope, it is completely immaterial, so there is absolutely no empirical way to test.
It's classic substance dualism:
A world made of material stuff, atoms, quarks, gluons, nuclear forces
&
Consciousness, Mind.....completely independent of any physical or material laws. This is where you encounter the holy spirit with a laundry list of vague and not so vague experiences that are impossible to prove or reproduce for anyone else....personal experience.
So does that experience have a cause(God, Jesus, Holy Spirit), human senses are very easy to fool, defined with synthetic propositions which means nothing can be known with absolute certainty because there can always exist and infinite possible explanations for sense data.
All of this would be handled with "External World Skepticism" in other words no matter the experience, no matter how intense we should never be so lazy and dumb to assume a supernatural experience.
Many humans experience:
Intrusions, Euphoria, Guilt, Intuitions, Voices. These are in fact normal experiences shared by most of the human race, these things are you, they are how you evolved, it's how all of us made it this far in evolution, they serve a purpose to keep us alive. You soak up your surroundings on a subconscious level and you react, but these things don't need an external cause, we do this because we lack the luxury in all situations to sit around and reason, such as when a bear jumps out of the bushes causing us to act based on pure intuition.
These experiences have formed thousands of religions throughout human history.
The western Christian faith is an institution of smugness, where they claim sole ownership of these experiences and insist that only their religion is the one true reason for any of these experiences. They hold that these senses, that most humans have, unambiguously reveals Gods presence to everyone and who's God?,,,,,well it's the Christian God of the holy bible of course.
If you claim you lack this universal experience of the Christian God to the western religiously devoted, you are considered a lair by default or to have a malfunction in their ability to sense the divine.
Those that fail to convert to the Christian faith are either spiritually blind or outright sinful.
"We're right, your wrong" If you disagree you're ignorant and evil.....the very foundation of Christian Apology 101 in a nutshell.
Case Closed, there is no way to end this argument with a Christian and probably why you shouldn't even bother.
It should be mentioned and warned that this sort of thinking can lead to violent fanaticism and has throughout history, so it shouldn't be taken lightly. Reason is tossed out the window and instead replaced with a blunt sledge hammer of authority to bash us non-believers over the head.
