Rest Days

I believe i am hindering my growth from maybe not taking enought time off? Is that possible on AAS?

1 day off every 7-8 days. I walk 5 days a week being on feet for work. Non laborus but 10,000-13,000 steps a day. Then 1-2 days are more laborous work.

Also yoga/foam roll 3-4 times a week

I upped my cals to from 3500 to 3800
3500 cals is
360 protein
360 carbs
80 fats
Then added carbs and protein to get to 3800

I hit these 6 days a week, the last is either more or less by 500.

I have gained considerable weight and mass even while achieving more ab definition.

So this is leading me to believe i should add more food?

I am started at 6 foot 215 lbs.

I am now 240 lbs.

I was 250 prior to a torn pec.

So this is first cycle back, which is why its such an intense jump. And ability to gain like this, alot of muscle memory, and off cycle for 9 months.

So i am back to getting there., the muscle memory has stopped. So now is the real gain.

I feel like i am maybe not taking enough time off. Would an extra rest day make a difference in more growth? Or just stay the course?

By asking the question, you already know the answer. If you use AAS, you should still make sure your body rests properly (not just your muscles but also your nervous system), which is just as important as proper training and diet on AAS. It sure helps you to recover faster and sure, you can do more, but It is not like resting does not matter anymore.

Also, if +kcal does the trick, you did a right call.
Sounds cliché, but - observe how your body reacts. If it works - keep doing it, if it is not - adjust.

I was working out 6 days a week, i have a labor intensive job and stoped recovering. So now I'm basically doing 3 days off ,4 workout days and feel much better. It was hard at first because like to workout 6 to 7 days a weeks I'm obsessed like that. But feel much better now. Joints everything.

Same.

Hard work, long hours, plenty of 24-48 hour shifts and I would still workout 6 days a week. I love to work hard and can pretty much do it 24/7 and enjoy it. But not much progress in body change nor weights so now I mandate rest days. It was a HUGE mental issue when I first started. Feels weird saying it but it really was hard.
Now that I’ve been taking rest days for a while it’s pretty easy. Still have days where I’ll justify skipping a rest day but not often.

Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates would 100% tell you, that you are not taking enough time off my friend.

Dammit… will take off tomorrow and then saturday or sunday. Will find some non exercise stuff to do, somehow.

Will have to incorporate more for sure.

I'd really consider taking a week off and let your nervous system recover. It's not just about muscle recovery. And as the other member said above, you may or honestly WILL be shocked how much stronger you are.

Yea, will go for some time off, no idea if a week will be able, with daily life stress gym is important, will see if yoga/foam rolling/walking/trail hiking/swimming will be sufficient. If so then yes, a week may be best.

Edit-to find some other joys in life too

My meal preping , Walking foam rolling and massage mabe some stretching, is what I do in off days to stay busy,, I want to try yoga.

I am doing 4 days on and 3 days off. Sometimes I do 3 days on, 4 days off. But these are random for me. Example:

- heavy workout twice in a row, rest for two days.

- Recently I rested for 4 days in a row after a minor muscle pull in my back.

- Normally heavy workout, rest 1 day. Then rinse, repeat.

I have good gains without AAS this way, although I’m on 25mg/day enclomiphene and it seems to be giving me insane mood swings, energy and strength, far more than I had on AAS.

Depends on how much your CNS is loaded. Muscle on aas can recover fine but taxing your nervous system can stop you at your tracks. Your best bet is watching how the the weigth is moving on the bar. Does it increase? Continue to do what you do. It got stuck? Add food. If that doesn't help, add a rest day. If that doesn't work add a rest week.
