Risks of homebrewing?

Hey guys..new to brewing, in fact I haven't even done my first batch, but am researching while I get a "lab" area set up and order materials. Obviously home brewing comes with plenty of benefits...knowing exactly how things are being made/sterilized- not accounting for the raws. Apart from all the positives how serious are the consequences if LE were to catch you homebrewing? I suppose it would mostly depend on how much you're making etc...but what do you guys think? Safer to home brew or source?

Well.... A manufacturing/distribution charge of an illicit substance sounds pretty serious. Probably just as serious as knowingly importing the powder.

There's risk in it all. But I think if you aren't importing kilos of raw powder you should be able to stay off radar. And it's easier to conceal a little raws than finished vials. And you only need a little powder to brew a years worth of gear.

"The http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/drug-manufacturing-and-cultivation.html is considered a felony. The consequences of a conviction can include hefty fines and prison time. In addition, those who help to produce any kind of illegal drug may also be charged with the crime and are typically subject to consequences that are much more severe than possession of a drug for personal use."
Just found this...def scares ya a bit and makes you rethink it...Only reason for manufacturing them would be personal use. No intent to sell...but still damn. How risky is this?

You're fine .... unless youre involved in some other elicit activities that would draw attention to you in the first place , the likelihood of ever catching heat is pretty slim(not impossible though) ...

Now on the other hand if you ever decided to venture off into a more lucrative direction, the risk increases exponentially. Still not exactly gonna draw the kind of attention that other higher scheduled narc drugs will , but youre taking some risks for sure.

Mostly Just keep your mouth shut . Dont brag to your gym bros that you brewed up a years worth of test for 100$ , or do anything stupid to draw attention to yourself and 99% chance no one will ever bother you.

If you are busted homebrewing the charges are going to depend on who does the bust. If its a small town and they want to make a headline you could get charged with manufacture of controlled substance, poss with intent to distribute (finished products) conspiracy to manufacture/distribute and whatever else they decide to throw at you to make you look like a big time lab. Although if customs intercepts your pack and its 100 grams or so you will probably get a letter that you just have to throw away and ignore.

The biggest risk is getting too cocky
getting beyond personal-use manufacture to engage in commercial brewing.

It's unlikely they're going after you for measly quantities intended for personal use.

As long as you don't draw attention to your house
i.e. no domestic violence
you're usually pretty safe.
