Town police detectives, assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Special Tactical Operations (STOP) team, executed a search warrant around 6 a.m., Wednesday, at 10 Alfred Street in Wareham, according to a statement from Wareham Police Lt. Kevin Walsh.
Entry was made into the mobile home unit without incident, at which time three people were detained, including 31-year-old Joseph Guarneri, owner of the mobile home, Walsh said.
During a search of the home, detectives recovered several glass vials containing a steroid substance, as well as several pill bottles containing steroid-type pills and a Suboxone pill, according to Walsh. Digital scales and plastic bags were also located in the home, and an investigation at the scene revealed that the steroids were possessed by Guarneri, Walsh said.
Guarneri was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a Class E substance (steroids) and possession of a Class B Substance, (Suboxone, a prescription drug used to treat opiate dependence), according to police. He was arraigned on the charges at the Wareham Fourth District Court on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
