rotator cuff injury

Hey guys I normally post over at ASN, but since they are down, I am visiting here for awhile. My question is about my rotator cuff . I am scheduled for surgery to repair a tear in May and I was interested if any one has had this type of surgery and what can I expect for recovery. time in sling , use of arm, time till I can train lightly?

If they can repair it by scoping it your looking at 3 months to full recov. if they got to open you up your looking at 6 months before you even start working out lightly and up to a year full recovery. I've had both so I know.........11

 

[remedy]

Had my torn rotator cuff repaired Feb 12/ 04. Started physical therapy following Monday 3 times / week. They want you to start doing pendulum exercises first day and at home 3- 4 times per day. Make sure you get a good sports oriented physical therapist and do everything he says. Some therapist aren't worth a dam and this will have alot to do with your recovery.

I wore the sling for 6 weeks. Recovery varies 9- 12 months
Don't rush it.
