Has anyone here been searched at the border (vehicular or personal searches). I've heard a lot about people getting caught smuggling during a secondary search, my question, does anyone know what and where the customs guys search in a vehicle or on person, or is it random everytime.

I have heard that people have been stopped at the border and the BP knew exactly where their stuff was stashed...Went right for it. The person this happened to seems to think he was informed on by the guy that sold him the gear.mike351 said:

I'm just wondering if, should customs do an arbitrary search, do they have places that they always check as they are the usual hiding spots people use. I know under the seats or in your glove box and under the hood are all places they check, but what other areas do they usually check. Just wondering

I lifted the seat covers and taped my gear to the inside of them. The BP did a quick pat down of the seat but there was no way he could possibly feel them. Funny thing is my buddy forgot he put all of the needles that came with the syringes inside of the glove box. All the BP had to do was look in there and no doubt we would have been busted.

This is what i have read on a couple boards, i myslef have never ever done this 
...the pharamcies in mexico will watch where you hide the steroids and then tip off the customs...customs then as an incentive gives back the steroids to the pharamacy, so the pharmacy makes off with your money and gets the steroids back, and your fucked...
the trick is to drive down with your girlfriend, wife, or a skinny ass friend and take two cars, go buy the steroids and make it quite obvous where you hide them in your car, before the border stop with your skinny friend/ wife/ etc and hide the steroids in that car, they will most likely search you just because your a muscle head, where a tight shirt, maybe give them attitude...they will search you and you will be fine...chances are they are not goin to search the woman for roids..haha..or your skinny geek friend...just make sure you don't seem together..also put some tequila and a mexican blanket in your wife/friends car, so it looks like she is a tourist...

Dont Even Try To Smuggle It Across The Border. You'll Be Nervous When They Ask You Questions, And They Will Search Every Nook And Cranny Tearing Things Apartment. Trust Me, It Happened To Me.

I have family (aunts and uncles and such) that live in mexico, so i go down there a lot just to visit. every time that i have been across and back (maybe 20 times) we have never been searched. usually we carry a bunch of trinkets/presents back with us, so the guards can usually tell we are tourists and just look through the shit in the back. however, we drive a big conversion van, and even then, they have never done anymore searching than just through junk in the trunk (ha!). i myself have never smuggled simply because i don't want to put my family at risk, and because i haven't done a cycle yet
however, let me tell you this little story... my dad went into mexico to pick up some of our family and bring them into the states for a couple weeks. they were not smuggling anything, they were not suspicious-looking, they looked like perfectly decent people. unfortunately, the border patrol guard they ended up with was having a bad day or some shit, because he had my the entire group my dad was driving strip searched (orifices and all) for no reason, and they also turned the car upside down trying to find something to pin on them, but they found nothing. even though this happened 20-ish years ago, i tell you this because even if you don't look suspicious, that won't guarantee that you won't have a bad day at the border.
by the way, it might be worth the extra trouble to go down a little deeper into mexico to get your stuff, simply because i know how shady the people living in border towns can be. i've had a couple bad experiences that have convinced me to not even stop to piss in a border town. good luck.

The first time I actually did this the guard put a tag on my windshield for me to pull into one of the stalls to be searched,though I didn't know at the time what it was for,,I simply started driving and kept going and noone came after me thank goodness.
Notice I'm putting this in past tense,,there's no way I would try it again though I pulled it off quite a few times.

And yes they have mules to drive it over for you,,I actually had a couple of friends do this,,the mexican border is the hardest to get through,,the checkpoint further in the states was always a piece of cake as I was always just waved through.
My friends paid them to get it thru the mexi border and then mailed it back to where they lived so they wouldn't have to pass thru the next check. dumb, dumb, dumb,,,they were busted upon their return. They did 2 stupid things,,one was not driving it back themselves,,the other was having it sent to an MBE without having a box there. The owner of the MBE saw the addy and turned it over to the police,,had they rented a box beforehand they would have been alright

your best investment is a good taxi driver. they will take you to many different places vets, back alley "doctors". the cabbies stash it, have you buy some blankies and booze pay them 20.00 and across you go not searched. but scared as fuck

Got Busted in Laredo
I've been popped on the Texas border in Laredo a few years ago. My buddy and I put four vials of test in his speaker box in his trunk. I couldn't f-ing believe the Customs guy got out a screwdriver and went inside his speaker and found it. Un-fucking-believable!! I said the vials were mine, got my rights read in a backroom, paid a $120 fine and because i was in the military at the time, they notified my company commander who was waiting for me upon my return. Not sure though if it still on my record though?

I've crossed the border probably at least 50 times and ALL 50 TIMES I've been searched!! While I sit and watch Mexicans come in 10 to 15 in a Chevy Chevette and Customs don't say a f-ing word.
