Seizure letters and addresses

I dunno, if I was looking to get someone in shit sending them a large amount of illegal stuff marked as explosives would be one hell of a way to do it. That chemical name just doesn't seem like some random ass thing to mark down, like amino or other like Tanuki mentioned.

It seems like it would always bring additional scrutiny on the shipper too. Of course, a chemical company could manufacture pentaerythritol for legitimate pharmaceutical uses. But not so good if they're willing to ship bulk quantities to any individual who wants some.

The return address on that package seemed pretty generic, just a couple of initials? I dunno. That shipper deserves to have a lot of scrutiny after that, it directly lead to a person being busted.

It almost seems as if there could be something more to the story, I guess we'll find out eventually. Marking down the contents as explosives is the worst thing they possibly could have done, its a guaranteed red flag that going to get multiple security departments involved.

What I'm gonna talk about was domestic. Back in the 90's before DNP was on the DEA's list of watched chem's or whatever, I ordered 2 big bottles from a research chem company using my company name.
The hazmat fee that UPS charged was more than the dnp cost. The bottles came in what looked like paint cans...had to pry the tops off like a paint can. Then the cans were in 2 heavy duty plastic bags. DNP supposedly has a low flash point.
Once the shit was listed I got a nice letter from a special agent with the FDA. Anyway, there is protocol for shipping stuff like this. I know it would be dicey with customs.

After recently researching and posting some publication from USPS about rules and regulations, I was kinda just assuming the shipper was trying to "get smart" by falsely label his package as a "properly packaged and labeled parcel" - thus attempting to fly under the radar as plain and presently open.. And that he just fucked up and ignorantly picked the wrong name to use..? Though I never ever read to see or looked any further into it..:drooling:

Thanks! I know the news media isn't generally interested in these details. So things like this and specifics in court document usually go unreported. But I know people here on meso and other AAS forums find it useful.

If anyone ordered steroids and received a package labeled "pentaerythritol," they would likely be curious - or at least should be.

erythritol is a common sweetener used instead of sugar in a lot of health food type products, maybe somehow that was what was intended?
