sick and lifting

I got a stomach bug sometime Saturday. I haven't eaten much of anything since then, and even water makes me nauseated. I'm thinking of NOT working out tonight because I'm dehydrated and I'd probably sh_t out anything I tried to eat afterward. When will I know it's okay to get back in the gym? I was currently de-loading on the 5x5 (3x3). Should I just start back with the standard 5x5 routine (loading using 5 reps per set) when I can finally hold food and water without sh_tting it all over the wall in my bathroom?
 
Don't workout.....Get better.....go back to the 3x3 as it won't be as hard on you while you fully recover, and is great neural work.

When it's ok to go back to the gym is totally up to you. If you need a rule of thumb (if one could exist for this), I'd say that you should wait until the day AFTER the first day you start to feel better.
 
Id take the time off to heal up.
The body is fighting right now to get better.
Adding extra stress from a workout might prolong the battle.
 
What about a bad cough? You think thats enough to stay outa the gym? Get back to me fast b/c im about to goto the gym lol.
 
thanks guys, if it wasn't serious, I wouldn't have posted. I get the idea the guy mentioning the cough is flaming me. I'm holding water down without feeling sick now, but my muscles are all cramping up, giving me the impression I'm dehydrated. Just for sh_ts and grins: Last night I ate some homemade chicken soup, railed the girl and went to bed... about an hour later I bolted upright to go Sh_t about 5 gallons of yellow water... LOL. I can't wait until this thing is gone, but I'm pretty sure I'm on the recovery now. Thanks bros. I'll start back with the 3x3. PEACE!!!
