I don't doubt Kurt Havens' intelligence, and he seems to have a decent amount of knowledge about PEDs. I believe he has pro bodybuilders among his clients, so I don't consider him a poor resource. However, if you search around the site, there are many unconnected threads where users comment on the poor quality of his GH book, as well as substantial critiques of various claims he has made on podcasts. Now, as I don't possess the requisite knowledge to verify the veracity of these criticisms, I withhold myself from outright dismissing his expertise, but the amount of unrelated negative comments does cause me to be somewhat skeptical of the information he provides.
I had to do a little digging to find the plagiarism accusations against him that I referred to. Once again, I cannot verify the authenticity of this accusation, but I also have no reason to believe the accuser is fabricating the accusation, especially given the rather solid reputation that
@Type-IIx has on these forums. If true, this is a quite egregious example of plagiarism:
Also, my mistake, it was not a cease-and-desist letter. I should have been more careful with my words and fact-checked myself before posting; I make no excuse for myself. He was allegedly directly called out and told to remove the plagiarized content, with the accuser's attorney CC'd on the message. If this did indeed cause him to comply with the demand out of fear of legal repercussions, it's essentially an indirect admission of guilt, in my opinion.
Just to reiterate: I cannot verify any of this. If I'm in a court of law, this is dismissed as hearsay, and Kurt is innocent until proven guilty; the burden of proof is on the prosecutor. I'm just saying, it doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in him on my end. I make no personal judgement about his character.
