Man, I think you need to just get over it. Prices are not gonna drop, only increase or maybe stabilize at best.
It's not like you're living in some third world country, you're in UK which still has at least decent economy.

not surprising. this is one reason why minimum wages are idiotic and do not work and make everyone worse off except those getting welfare (the min wage workers). Unions too.

I think and believe that this is a global problem and all the problems are ahead of us. So we need to be more relaxed about it.
It's very easy to type simplistic advice like that bro but not as easy to actually do it in real life or in business.
Look at how many companies and businesses collapsed during lockdowns and how many people lost their jobs and homes before you speak so flippantly and cluelessly again.
In the world of consumerism ....most businesses can't just increase prices and also offer lower standards and decreased value of goods and services to customers in order for the business to survive. That's not how things work in the real world bro.
When prices start to increase for non essential goods/services.....customers will always just stop spending and go looking for ways to save money and get a better deal on the goods/services they want.

people just accept it. once people accepted the lock downs and started believing that a cold was going to kill them, it was over
I prefer to live simple. As long as I’m eating, driving my vehicle, hitting the gym and doing stuff with my family I’m good. I quit “what-iffing” everything, I’ll keep doing whatever it takes to keep living this way, fuck chasing the horizon. I see so many ppl bitching and scared and they ain’t even struggling. So gas costs me another hundred bucks a month, whatever. If I’m that broke I needed to change my game plan a long time ago anyways. Fuck watching the news and keeping up with this shit, I ignore as much as I can and keep on keeping on!

Yeah, I'm not too much in to politics and all that stuff I have no control anyway.
I'm good, it sucks yeah, I'd love if it was 2019 again when everything was great and no corona or wars existed.
I don't put myself in to this depression mode, it's not something I can't overcome. I just adapt not perish that's it. Life goes on, me and my goals are not slowing down either. I move on.

I also stopped watching the news so as not to clutter my head. I try to work and earn as much as possible for myself and my family. I focus on family and loved ones. To hell with politics.

I was only 16 that year so that means you were only 6 and both of us had no fucking idea about the real world at that age coz we were still living with parents and not even financially responsible.
In hindsight I can say for sure that life in the 1980-1990s was absolutely nothing like life in 2000-2022 and there were actually a lot more social freedoms back then and less restrictions/legislation compared to nowadays.
I was like that all my life until covid, brexit, and a fucked-up lifestyle in 2022.
You can't avoid politics these days, especially as you age, coz if you don't stay aware of what's happening around you.....you will soon find yourself in unexpected situations that you didn't prepare or plan for.
Keep your friends close but keep your potential enemies even closer.

People older than you (in numbers) were all the same age as you once before and you will be at their older age sooner than you can possibly imagine. The years fly past so quickly and you will realise that sooner or later but don't mistake age (numbers) for mindset.
I'm 53 in numbers...but still a crazy care-free youngster in my head and I always will be. Many other older people than you are no different if you actually get to know them.
Life forces us all to mature and act responsibly to survive. You will learn this in your own time from experience and mistakes.....just like everyone does/did

But, I agree with your post. 1984 is a book by Orwell. I would watch the movie if you don't feel like reading the book. its about a world where the government spies on us and controls our every move (like the fake pandemic).
