Skin thickening?

Has anyone else noticed their skin getting thicker and tougher since starting TRT? When I first started shots I could easily puncture the skin. Even going extra slow it was no problem. Now, I pretty much have to jab it just to get through the outer layer of skin. One there I continue slowly cause of my tendencies to hit nerves. Even with my HCG shot I had to have it done very fast (wife did it for me since it was a new thing for me...that and I was nervous since it was a new procedure). When I tried doing it slowly the needle just would not break skin!! I left one hell of an indention though. And this was with 26G needles!

Do you reuse the needle by any chance? By that I mean, do you use the same needle for drawing the liquid as injecting? If so, you shouldn't. Draw with one needle, then put a fresh one on before penetrating the skin. Needles dull after they puncture something.

Whenever I have read about how to do injections, it has said to "dart" the needle. To me that means doing it a little fast than pressing the needle against your skin and applying pressure until it pops through.

It sounds like you are continually injecting in the same exact spot and building up some scar tissue. Switch it up a little.

What dose of Test are you using and how long have you been on cycle? High doses of Test compromise collagen synthesis. Skin thickening and drying can be a result.

I'm only on 100mg/week. Been on since December. And no, I don't hit the same spot over and over. I not only rotate sides but sites as well. Haven't hit the same spot twice to my knowledge.

It's just weird. Very first inject the needle went right in. No probs. Lately I have to press quite hard in order to make it break the skin. I'm a fan of the slow inject simply because I have a tendency to hit nerves as well. When I do the quick injects you can still see the skin dimpling down with the needle. My wife has likened my skin to dog skin. She's injected dogs for years and she's done her own shots as well as mine. She says that my skin is actually a bit harder to get a needle into than our dog's skin! Strange.

I would think that it is more of a heightening of awareness then any thing else considering the lenght of time you have been on.

I can definetley feel and see the thickening of my skin since on HRT--which includes HGH. My skin tears less frequently, has fewer dry spots, and has regained some elasticity.
