Sleep and training.

I’m going to get 4 hours of sleep tonight if I go train in the morning. Plus it’s a leg day. I hate having shit leg days.

I know the session will be asshole and I have 10 hours of work a quiz and an exam due tomorrow because my time management blows dick this week.

My training and diet have been on point but days like this where I get little to no sleep kill it for me.

Do you guys train when you’re lacking sleep for a day or two? Or make up the training on a well rested day.

Obviously I do sometimes but I f it’s all I had I wouldn’t give a shit Nd suck it up. But I almost wonder if I’m better off sleeping in Saturday and Sunday hitting it hard instead of a forced lift on days like this.

It all depends on how I am feeling on the day, sometimes I can train on 4 or 5 hours sleep and still be strong and on form - other times I cannot. If I simply feel too tired and like the session will be completely unenjoyable and not be progressive I will wait till I have caught the sleep up and do it then. Sometimes though even if I still feel tired but have eaten extremely well carb wise then I have pulled PR's out of the bag. One thing for sure is you cannot grow properly on 4 hours sleep in terms of effective recovery.

I sleep almost always 4-5 hours. And I’m already used to it, but I try to train my legs in the afternoon, because in the morning if you train your legs, no matter how much sleep I get, it doesn’t work out very well. But if I train them in the evening - everything is fine.
And as it is rightly said here, the main thing depends on how you feel.

I would gauge it by how I feel. SOMETIMES I can get 3 hours of sleep and feel excellent. Most times that’s not the case though.

You won’t get stronger in that one workout, and you won’t get weaker by missing it, but you can certainly fuck your self up in one workout and set yourself back days, weeks, or even months. Always keep that in mind too

The likelihood of injury goes wayyyy up when you’re lacking sleep

Yeah I can tell I’m exhausted because standing at work is killing my legs. Usually Doesn’t happen.

This has been a bad week for sleep I’ll be working on this.

Golden and true words, sometimes the ego does not allow us to realize this and act wisely. Skip one workout and evaluate adequately

Thanks brother. Feel 10x better today after sleeping 11 hours hahaha time to go destroy legs
There have been days like that ill take a primatene but skip legs, a d do core or some active rest stuff, or arms, small muscle groups.

But a good sleep not over or under slept, and carb loaded, and after a rest day, thats when i try to get legs done, or i will put the muscle i am trying yo grow most there.

When I sleep more than usual, I feel overwhelmed and without strength. And 4-6 hours in general is enough for me. I do not know all my life so, I sleep 8-10 I feel bad.

If I sleep 10 hours I feel like ass when I wake up. I usually sleep 6-7 and am fine. But if I go a day or two with 4-5 hours of sleep and sleep 10 hours I feel fantastic. I agree though there is a thing as too much sleep for me. I don’t understand how guys sleep so much.

Yes, my wife likes to sleep 10-12 hours. Probably this is her favorite pastime and she gets up cheerful as a mountain doe. But if I have a lot of sleep, I seem to have been drinking a lot of alcohol and strenuously.
