Smolov Jr. for bench

Gym has ac, but it's not cold like commercial gym. Yes we have metal plates! It's an old school gym I've been a member off and on since '85! We have most things needed for powerlifting/bodybuilding! 3 Forza benches, monolift, 100lb plates! It's a great place and the owner is a good friend and cool mother fucker!
Your gym sounds awesome. I went to one like that for 10yrs but it closed. They even had sleds you could push around the parking lot! I work out in my garage now with a gulf breeze and an industrial fan.
 
Started week 2 today:
255 6x6
Not heavy by any means but my left shoulder was screaming with discomfort. Not extremely painful, but not exactly feeling good. Can't imagine how it would feel without the 600 NPP I'm on!
Finished up with rows, pull downs and face pulls!

Weight moved pretty good. Prob an rpe 8 on last set. Shoulder is barking a little louder but able to train through it, for now!
 
A little further out. It feels like a bone hurting when I press on it. It's much better today, but 10 triples tomorrow is going to be a daunting task!
You might want to get it checked out. Could be the acromion, supraspinatus or or number of things. Get it now before it gets worst. A few weeks off is better than a few months off.

Shoulder is much better, didn't bother me at all until 8th set, and that was minimal. Probably 8.5-9 RPE on last set. Fatigue was a factor after benching yesterday as well! One week left!

Well, the Smolov is on hold. Woke yesterday and couldn't walk. Got a bone spur on my vertebrae causing severe nerve and muscle pain on my left side and leg. This is one of the most painful, uncomfortable problems I've ever experienced,like a bad tooth ache in my leg. Went to the chiropractor twice today and again tomorrow morning, ortho nextweek. Don't know how long I'll be down l, but I'll come back with a vengeance!

I'm on to the smolov junior now.

Been struggling with shoulder pain all spring on my maxes, and took a step back, been doing a lot of rotator cuff work this summer. My max dropped close to 50 pounds in the process while cutting, but hey.

Will report back, should be hitting that 150kg/360lbs milestone this winter if all goes right.
 
Got a little update. Around the first of August I was diagnosed with anklyosis spondylitis. Basically an incurable auto immune form of arthritis. I have fusing in my vertebrae and severe spinal stenosis. I contemplated changing my lifting habits to more of a bodybuilding type since I couldn’t even lay on a flat bench without extensive pain. Couldn’t squat or deadlift. After a month I said fuck it. I’m always going to hurt and there’s no cure so I’m going to lift heavy. After I couple weeks of benching i decided to give Smolov another ride. I figured my max by reps and determined it to be around 340-350. I plugged in 340 and went ahead. I finished up the program last Sunday and today I went to check the outcome. I hit 365 fairly easy and then did 375. I think I have 10 more pounds in me. Seeing as how I’ve been cruising on my trt dose of 200mg a week for two months, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a 15-25lb increase off my meet bench from April at 10lbs less body weight and not on blast.,now time to get the dead’s and squat progressing as I’ve lost at least 100lbs of those since summer!
