Staying Motivated

Hello guys,
How do y'all stay motivated to continue working out, I'm not looking for just fucking do it. Seriously, I follow this forum and it helps and I learn a lot but damn. I work 100+ hrs a week, 2 weeks on 1 week off. I alternate days then nights. I work out of town so I'm by myself and that helps, but I have 2 little kids and wife I have to talk to at some point during the day/night as well as try and meal prep and get at least 5-6 hrs sleep on top of working out. What pushes you through when you just like fuck it I don't wanna work out today? I'm paid very well for my time so quitting is not an option at least for few more years.

Anyone with common sense can see you are in a rough stage of life. Your expectations don't seem to balance with the reality of your responsibilities. Make the good money while you can. Life has a way of taking unexpected twists and turns.

Tip: Push-ups, sit-ups (controlled). Classic prison workout.

I don't dis agree, and I like what I do, as well as make it work. I take off days to catch up on sleep, have a nice rogue rack and deadlift bars and equipment where I stay as to not have to waste time driving to gym. I was just curious as to what some guys do when they really don't want to work out. I'm good once I get going and glad I did it when done but it's pushing through the getting started.

I don't work 100hrs a week but I do have basically 2 full time jobs. I work 7days a week right now and I don't have any days off unless I have someone cover a shift at my second job. I have very bad sleep problems as well so I only manage 3-5hrs of sleep a night and even that is interrupted a few times when I wake up. It's very rare for me to ever have enough energy to say "I can't wait to hit the fucking gym". I always have to drag my ass there but when I do it's like something flips in my mind. I'm no longer tired. After I do my mob work and get my ROM greased, I just can't wait to pick up that barbell and start smashing my stress with the iron. All I do is force myself to go. Just driving out even if i plan on going back home right after helps bc there has not been a single time when I've driven to the gym and not ended up lifting unless I had an injury.
Making excuses is not an option for me. I want to do another PL meet and set new PRs. Not lifting doesn't help that goal.

That's bad ass, thanks sir. I consult so it's not physical labor, but it is just mental draining. Guess I just need to STFU and push through it.

I get that attitude on days when Work runs long but then I get home take a shower look in the mirror when I get out and be like damn I look good. And that in turn makes me want to go chase down some more gains so I can continue to look good!

I lift because I like it. If I didn't like it, or if I was too busy or tired, I wouldn't go. Despite popular opinion, looking and being physically strong isn't the key to success in this world, won't get you the longest life, best career, perfect wife or smartest kids.

I can relate to that [emoji6]

One of the best quotes I’ve heard on a YouTube BB motivational video was “If you don’t Love it, you’re not gonna continue to do it. You may do it for a year or two but you’re not gonna suffer through the diet and training in the long term.” Just gotta find a way to fall in love with it and make it happen. I was working crazy hours at one time in all types of inclement weather and would always make myself find time to train because I Love it.
