Sterilizing Vials

Are you going to transfer it to 10mL vials? If so, why not erase all doubt and use a syringe filter this time?

Next time you'll remember, trust me lol that fog had me wanting to murder kittens.
I'm going to be honest... Lol this thread popped in my head as soon as I saw that condensation.

That was my last bottle top filter so yay syringe filters! They are in tens already... And these damn 18g excel syringes leave a piece of stopper in every damn vial so I'm going to have to get 20g. I used 25g today. Lol.

Yeah, they do. It's too big to use as a draw pin, even 20g is sometimes a problem. Try 22g for drawing and venting, I have had no issues with them. It's a little slower, but no chunks get cut out into my gear.

Also, @MedLabGear sells the filter straws I think. They're designed for people drawing oil from amps, to keep from drawing any fragments of glass left over from breaking them open. I haven't looked in awhile, but I'm pretty sure he still carries them, and they'll keep you from worrying about drawing that piece of rubber up into your pin.

It's the bottom side of what I'm assuming is a sterile stopper, so there is no problem with it being in your gear, but it damn sure will be a problem if you draw it and inject it, so the filter straws should eliminate this threat. They're basically a needle with a screen inside to keep any fragments from getting into your syringe.

Fuuuck.

All that effort because you were lead to believe they were sterile? Id happily take a shit on there door step.

Just kidding

View attachment 74645 would this be a good option ? It only goes up to 392°f

Not really buddy, you need something that gets a bit hotter like @XmadXscientist stated. Otherwise, you don't really achieve sterility, so you might as well be flushing your money down the toilet.

There are legit dry heat sterilization cabinets similar to what you've posted here that get VERY hot, but you can find them reasonably priced for the ones that get to the 500-600 degree F range, which is what you need. Look for the ones with the twist lock front doors, they offer the most head room for taller stuff like 500mL media glass and Erlenmeyer flasks. I can't remember exactly but I think I gave like $300 to $400 for mine, maybe even cheaper than that!

I just paid $450 for a used refurbished Pelton @daylight driller I wanna thank you for finding it for me . but I am new to the Autoclave word and there is a lot you need to know abt it before you buy it ( make sure they warranty it )
But always remember you get what you pay for. And don't cut yourself short on sanitation or sterilization . because dirty equipment or vials could ruin your life if the wrong thing gets injected in your body . I found another one on eBay for $400 plus shipping it is a Pelton validator ( I think thats the model) but it did say it worked flawless and the looks of it was good @eje1990 let me see if it is still there and I'll PM you the Item number and if anyone else is interested in it just pm me and I'll get it to you . it was a buy it now . so you dont have. Hassle with bidding wars like I did .

They are Pelton and Crane right?
Good ol' workhorses they say.
Besides making sure they work fine, you need to make sure spare parts are still available. The lid gasket is especially important.

If buying used ones, a manual autoclave may be more reliable

Not to discourage you but you may want to leave the autoclave for a latter stage.
i.e. you can buy true big-pharma sterile vials from Hospira (acquired by Pfizer)
Pfizer Completes Acquisition of Hospira | Pfizer: One of the world's premier biopharmaceutical companies
Sterile Empty Vial | Pfizerinjectables

About $2 each available here and in Ebay/Amazon
Hospira Empty Sterile Glass Vial 10ml

Cutting Aluminum crimps becomes easy and fast, especially if proper pliers are used
https://www.kebbyindustries.com/store/vial-decapper-pliers.html
Vial Plier Decapper Decrimper for 30mm Seals - Medlab Gear

Unless you work in a pharma-like true clean room, briefly opening vial caps, quickly pouring oil and recapping will become as sterile as sterilizing vials+stoppers yourself, and pouring oil then crimping.

(make sure decappers you buy are 10ml vials specific)

Yes I did make sure that parts are available . the guy repairs them and then resells them . but I've found several that are the same model and are for parts only. But he is less then 2 hours from me . so at worse case I could drive there and get the parts from him if need to . And I juggled the idea for days abt cutting the rings like you mentioned . and I do plan to do that as well as sterilizing my own and stoppers. And I wouldn't do that if I wasn't confident that the Autoclave couldn't do it it. but I do plan to do both ways and see what works best for me

Nice

Next step see if you can walk in a lab/pharma equipment store and buy vials (along with rubber stoppers and Aluminum crimps) and filters yourself paying cash.
Buying large amounts of vials by mail attracts unwanted attention.
Be aware that vials may only by sold wholesale by the thousand, probably not by the hundred.

Why go into a store and buy them when you can thousands of them on ebay or from made in china cheap? If paranoid that it will raise suspicion you can always send to a dump address or someone you know. Its also pretty easy to set up or buy a stealth paypal account.

I wish I knew where a lab equipment store was. .I'm sure they have them in the city tho.
I'm going. Have to check into it

Oh it does, does it? Can you give me a legitimate source for this information?

Vials are not controlled, scheduled, tracked, or regulated. They are merely batched, and so is your Folgers coffee. Stop spreading stupidity and paranoia in an attempt to sound intelligent.

If you have nothing of value to say, or something that actually would contribute to a discussion, you can feel free to just not say anything at all.

You appear to have an inability to keep your mouth shut when it comes to subjects you know very little about, and certainly have next to no experience with. This is not only fucking annoying, but potentially dangerous, given the nature of this website.

If you advise some absolute horseshit to someone who doesn't know better, and they end up getting hurt, you should be strung up from a tree by your balls and used as a piñata for the children of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Also,

1) Fuck off with your lists.

2) See #1.

Google how Research Lab Supplies was busted despite just selling empty vials, stoppers, crimps, filters.
The FDA busted them and seized all computers and records.

Sure that was ages ago
Rumor has it that now Caprice-drivers don't bust lab suppliers, they give 'em the option to "voluntarily" surrender all customers info, and keep on running business.

If you go in somewhere buying reams of vials and stoppers you look suspicious, even if you work out and are natty you will raise suspicion. There are ways to buy online without it being linked back to you.

Online and postal records are there forever.
Store walk-in may not. Especially if a credible story is told, leave car out of parking lot cameras, pay cash, fake invoice name/address, etc.
