Bob Smith said:Jewel and I were talking about education and some other issues the other day. She, being a teacher, highly values education and really sees how reliant the ed. system is on the overall economy. IMO, if the entire war on drugs was eliminated and that money spent on education, that would almost solve both problems. Education would have enough money for supplies, smaller class size and so on, and rec drug use would probably decline, as high educated people have a lower rate of usage. Plus, highly educated people (Ill say bachelors and above) have a much lower rate of violent criminal activity. Right now, I think the Fed. Dept of Educ should be eliminated and that responsibility left up to the individual states and communities.
I agree, Sens. The govt shouldnt be involved in the policing of sports organizations. And if the sports cant control their own athletes and policies, then they need to reevaluate their strategy.Sensational said:Yes! Good post bob!
On a related issue, the white house asked to have a meeting with representatives of the major sports(NFL NHL MLB etc) about steroid usage. WTF is that about? Bush and company need to stop wasting time on this issue.
Bob Smith said:I would probably vote libertarian if 1) they presented a viable candidate, and 2) he had at least a remote chance of winning or at least getting a good percentage of votes. Right now, Im not going to waste my vote on someone who will almost guaranteed get less than 4% of the popular vote and no electoral votes.
