Hello guys I would like to get your opinion about my training before I jump on second cycle.
I train bjj 3days a week and fitness 4days a wee
Mon fit | Tues bjj | Wed fit/bjj | Thu bjj |
Fri fit | Sat fit. | Sun rest/light cardio
My stats --> my goals
Height 187cm
Weight 83kg, BF 14% --> 90kg, 12% BF
BP 105kg --> 140kg
DL 200kg --> 250kg
SQ 140kg --> 200kg
(Mybe I am delusional with some these goals, don't judge me )
My primary goal is to get stronger, here is my workout:
GYM1.png

You only have sets and reps there's no weight, how do we know your intensity? There's no percentage of 1rm?

I have only 1rm for primary lifts. 5x5 i started with 80% of 1rm when i finished all sets with 5 reps I increased the weight by 2.5kg.
(I started bp with 85kg now i am doing with 92.5kg but last set i did only 3 reps when ill do all sets for 5 rep ill go to 95)

To be honest if you're primary goal is strength you need to focus on the big lifts and supplemental variations of those lifts with a few accessories exercises, for a strength training routine at your level there's a lot of fluff in your routine you don't need right now

Can you tell me more, what should i change? You have some good routine that you can give me? Because I am completely without of knowledge on this topic

Here's the thing that no body tells you: your jits is going to go downhill as you start adding muscle. Sorry, it's the truth. It's why none of the top bjj guys do much weight training at all. Strength is not the end all be all benefit to grappling that you think it is. Positioning, technique, and flexibility trumps strength.

Bodybuilding is gay. It's for looks. It's for queers to salivate over you and go home with the thought of your ripped body in mind as they fill their cornhole with massive dildos.

Grappling is for men. And we don't care how we look, as if you need to have your obliques ripped and striated. Who gives a fuck? The meatheads with huge muscles in my gym absolutely SuCK. They can't move. They have no flexibility. And they get tapped over and over again....by guys who look like they play video games all day.

You need to pick which road you want to go down.

Oh man, you left you soul here hahahahah
I partly agree with you , i agree with you that too much muscles will affect mine flexibility but I am 188cm tall and with 90kg I dont think ill be like a log that cant move if I keep up with my morning routine for flexibility. But still i think being stronger will help my jitsu just for exaple look at all adcc competitors most of them are jacked up and on steroids.
But yes ill foucused more on improving my bjj tehnique. Thenique >Strenght
And I also agree that flexing infront of mirror with your "gym bro" is little bit gay hahahaha

I know this guy he won first ever one championship grapling title, he trains with gilbret burns ufc fighter who is also known for his insane jj.
On the other hand you got andrè galvao, gordon ryan all jacked up, and I don't think mikey could win over this guys. Look at all NCAA division 1 wrestlers they are all strong as hell they all do strenght training.

I know most important is thenique in my gym comes one body builder who is 130g heavy and he benches 170kg i couldn't arambar him because he was to strong but still I tapp him with kimura and his benchpress didnt help him shit, but if this guy would have good tehnique ill be done. Tehnique over size but still size does metter.

As for muscle causing your performance to decline is a outdated concept, if fact every serious bjj/mma competitor amateur and professional uses s&c, it enhances your performance

Looks like a few people here never heard about the Gracie family. They've already answered all those questions. Jiu Jitsu is first of all a street fight.

I agree just the guy he mentioned was a bad example .
Ufc 1 would have been a better example with Gracie winning .

That was a time when the world was clueless to BJJ

Royce is also man sized. Mikey is the size of a small child, he weighs 125lbs, can you imagine how weak he is, as well as being that light. A decently strong man will smash him to bits in a street fight

No disrespect, but you have no clue what you talking about. I've been training BJJ for over 20 years. Go see what Royce Gracie did. The Gracie's put him to fight exactly because he was skinny. He beat trained fighters well over 200lb.
I've seen many strong people getting humbled in jiu jitsu. A guy that's not a high level grappler wouldn't even touch Mike M in a street fight. He would simply go for the legs and ankle lock the guy. He would be clueless on how to defend it. Fight over in less than 20 seconds.

Gracie had 60lbs on Mikey

I don't think you're comprehending how small 125lbs is, it's literally a child

If you can't overpower a 125lb person then that's crazy

Not to mention we are talking about a street fight, so you can also hit him, imagine how feeble a 125lb frame is, one connection and he is finished.

Grappling isn't a real fight, it changes massively when you add strikes too. Mikey ends up on bottom and the guy on top drops an elbow on his face, again, he's finished.

You're crazy if you believe someone who only grapples and weighs 125lbs beats a 200lbs athletic dude in a full on street fight

I mean no disrespect but he is just to small .
Ufc 1 was long time ago the sport has evolved Kron Gracie got smoked by Cub Swanson so ….
The thing is i have done contact sports and competed .
If i hit a 120 pound guy even if he puts his hands up he gets knocked out .
Do you understand that i can pick up a 120 pound guy and slam him with my weight added to his? Breaking his spine type shit .
If what you say was true than by this logic a well trained child could beat a 240 pound guy .
That does not happen there is a cut off point that skill cant overcome.
If the guy would have said Khabib or Islam i would have agreed .
Two 155 pounders that cut lots of weight to compete that are battle proven and have a submission based style .
Mike M is not that and has 0 fights and look like he cant finish a happy meal let alone a 240 pound man in a street fight.
