SUBOXONE AND MUSCLE GROWTH

ANYONE HERE ON LONG TERM MAINTENACE W/ SUBOXONE AND TRYING TO GAIN MUSCLE MASS? BEEN GOING AT IT FOR THREE YEARS STRONG. FOLLOWED ALL RECOMMENDATIONS WITH DIET AND EXCERSIZE, AND IT SEEMS LIKE MY GAINS ARE ALOT SLOWER THAN WHEN I WAS WEIGHT TRAINING BEFORE BECOMING AN ADDICT THOSE FEW YEARS AGO. THIS PAST YEAR I'VE REALLY BEEN DEBATING WHETHER TO TAKE THE PLUNGE INTO STEROIDS, IN ORDER TO CIRCUMVENT ANY DEFICIENCY OF TESTOSTERONE THAT SUBOXONE MAY BE CAUSING. MY WIFE IS CONCERNED WITH IT TRIGGERING A RELAPSE BECAUSE OF HOW AAS's ARE USED, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN A NEEDLE JUNKIE? WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

I've got a buddy on sub and he said it doesn't affect protein synthesis like opiates can, but he doesn't feel the motivation to work out as frequently while on it. Better than not working out at all while on oxys and heroin, I guess. Can't give any personal anecdotes, as I don't have any, but congratulations for trying to get clean.

Start cutting your dose slowly, I cut the strip in half, then thirds, then quarters for awhile, then just stopped. Gear will not cause a relapse, and working out seeing the transformation will give you that mental edge to succeed. Worked for me. Don't beat your wife, one morning you will wake up and your dick will be sitting on the alarm clock

I have been on them since they came out was steadily losing weight. Started TRT been slowly coming back it definitely makes gains harder for me. I have seen some that put on weight while on subs but I am the opposite.

So your wife is concerned you may resort to the injecting the devils dirt but your handle is @WifeBeater.....she needs to get her priorities in check...
Also....i shot heroin for 7 yrs....injecting AAS is of no trigger to me....two totally different worlds...

Glad to hear i'm not the only one who went through it. As for the handle, if you only knew me/her, you would understand that i am what they call " pussy whipped ". Honestly bro, i just thought it was funny. I keep telling her it's to improve myself, not destroy, but of course i understand her concern.

Former oxy/morphine/dilaudid user here, later IV heroin and whatever pain pills would break down in a spoon. Was on methadone for years and suboxone for awhile, too. Sitting around five years sober right now.

Fuck opiates is all i have to say. Evil drugs that steal part of what makes you you. Methadone and suboxone are NOT sobriety either. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise on that matter. Your best bet is get off them sooner rather than later and never look back.

@DrinkFlintWater same here. Pinning gear, pinning HGH and even self phlebotomy doesn't remind me of firing H one bit.

i have to disagree with you on that. it got my life back together and doesn't really interfere with day to day life. although i do still fear withdrawal, and it's the only thing holding me back from getting off the shit.

We can agree to disagree, it's all good.

To answer your original question I'm pretty sure long term opiate use causes lowered testosterone. I'm sure running some test would counteract that. As far as triggers I don't see it unless you hide your AAS use from her which would inevitably cause addict behavior in the act of hiding your use.

All good bro...hard to express sarcasm via text more often than that. GL

I keep fighting within myself on that one and your absolutely right about trying to hide it. Probably show her this thread, be honest about it, and hope for the best.

I've been on subs for 2 years I'm down to a quarter a day and considering stopping here soon but I can tell you from my experience using aas doesn't trigger any thoughts of relapse to me and I used needles for years while on herion. I think the most important thing is your mental health if your in a good place and don't have cravings and don't want to get high then using aas won't cause you to relapse.

My ex before last I hid it from for six months and felt just like being an addict again. Sneaking around and hiding my use. Not a good feeling after years of being clean. I mean you know what it's like and it just didn't sit right with the kind of person I am now.

She ended up finding out by seeing this website name in my address bar and I came clean about it. She was just pissed that I lied to her all that time and more so that I felt it necessary to lie to her. Not long after she did her first cycle of anavar and HGH.

So yeah, I don't know. Lying to your chick about gear is a very divided topic here depending on whom you talk to. Personally I'll never lie about it again. You know yourself and your woman and what you have at stake. Make the right decision for you.

good news!! talked about it and got the green light! thanks for your support!
Awesome, and glad you are on Suboxone rather than something that gets you high and ruins your life. I've been on them a while too. Opiates definitely lower our natural testosterone though I don't know by how much. Mine always came back within range but it was low normal. Being on HRT is better for me. Are you planning on cycling or going on HRT? I don't remember if you mentioned that. I recommend getting HRT through a doctor if you can. My doctor that prescribes my Suboxone also gives me my test, HCG, Nolvadex, and aromasin. He does it because of opiates lowering natural testosterone production. Keeps me legal and is well worth the low cost.
