Supplements that Lower Heart Rate

What supplements can I take, other than beta blockers (blood pressure is normal), to help lower my resting heart rate, particulary before bed, which is the only time it becomes a problem. I cannot seem to consistently relax to the point where I enter a calm state with a conformable HR.

The absolute best thing you can do is learn breathing techniques or meditation. They will help you feel calmer through the day and sleep better at night. There is plenty of info about both on the internet. Both can be done any time you get a spare 5 or 10 min through the day and they cost nothing. No supplement will work as well.

You need to do extended intense cardio everyday, push your heart rate up to the point you feel like you're gonna pass out or puke and hold this torture over and over and over in intervals. As the weeks go by your heart rate will relax and you'll sleep like a baby.

Of course we all notice our heart rate when we lay down. It would obviously be the only time most would take note.

Usain Bolt with 33 bpm resting, Miguel Indurian five time TDF winner with 28 bpm, Michael Phelps 38 bpm.

What's your resting heart rate per minute?

You should invest in Cardiac Output, 1h sessions with HR from 130 to 150 bpm.

Regarding supplements, have a look to Citrulline Malate:

Just be careful not to mix it with caffeine or other stimulants !

When I was a competitive cyclist my long daily training sessions which were 50 to 60 miles every work day and up to 120 miles on my days off had me in the best shape of my life, but I was also 6'2" 165lbs and I'm now 225lbs.

Volume training does indeed beat out short high intensity workouts. Like the famous 6hr training sessions where you increase your heart rate by one beat per minute everyday for those 6hrs until you reach your threshold and you stay immersed in that state of torture day after day. This is the training that produces world champions as far as over all winners.

Not only does this improve heart function, but it cleans your blood work up like nothing else torching your lipids, I had a total cholesterol of 16 and triglycerides below 10 and yet I was eating up to 8,000 calories on race days with plenty of stuff that would be considered a bad diet.

The problem body builders have is that we're too big, hct too high, steroids stimulate the CNS which can cause the heart to have palpitations.

Obviously most people don't have time to train like this and so HITT training makes more sense where you might get injured, but if you start with very short workouts and increase 1 minute everyday that should allow your tendons time to adapt to prevent injury.

im really trying to figure this out, and just trying to check my pulse makes me nervous so it runs high, when im at my calmest like if i feel like im going to fall asleep it can get down to 82-85 usually in the 90s.

ive been reading about supps that can help with this and i ordered some that i will try soon.

a form of vitamin b1, not sure which form of b1 will work best.
dan shen, chinese herb said to work as good as a beta blocker.

Ashwaghanda (ksm-66), l-theanine, magnesium. These may cause you to feel more calm and maybe slow heart rate. I don't think they directly lower heart rate though.

i stopped taking that, its very expensive and feel like it wasnt doing much, i take cialis 10mg every other day and other things like hawthrone berry, garlic. bp seems pretty good, no difference from dropping carditone.
Indeed expensive, it work for me though I'm not currently taking any PED's, my resting is around 42-44

thanks for sharing. my concern with long and frequent cardio is it being catabolic.

Running lowered my heart rate. When I was a tennis shoe addict (8-10 miles a day/6 days a week) my resting was 35-40.
right but only problem is bodybuilding and running don't really mix.. can I find a happy medium with moderate intensity cardio?
