Switching from tirz to reta

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on 5mg tirzepatide and thinking about switching to retatrutide. For those who’ve done it:
  • Did you use a washout or switch directly?
  • What starting dose worked best?
  • Any noticeable differences in side effects or fat loss?
Thanks!

I switched directly from 5mg tirz to 4mg reta. For the transition I pinned 2mg, then 3 days later another 2. After that I was back pinning once a week at 4mg. 1st 2 weeks I got pretty hungry as the tirz ramped down and reta ramped up. By the start of the 3rd week I was questioning whether I needed to drop the reta dose. Been 4 weeks now and doing great. Still at 4mg a week.

I don't feel as much suppression at this dose but it goes back and forth. There's some meals where I'm starving and could eat double what I'm eating, and later in the day I have to force feed to hit my calories. On tirz I never really felt hungry at all. If I wasn't about to up my calories in a couple weeks I'd probably up my reta dose. I hear of some people getting massive suppression at only 2mg Reta so I think it's kind of individual how it works for you.

I went from 10mg Tirz to 4 mg Reta. Some suppression so I went up to 5 mg and noticed more. I don’t get that full stuffed feeling on Reta like I did in Tirz, I just didn’t care to eat. I did see more additional fat loss as well. I have almost no sides on Reta either.

I was on 7.5mg of tirz and switched when I was 3 months in. No washout, injected 1mg of reta the next time I would have had my shot. I added 1mg every 3 days until I had 4mg in total and used that as weekly dose going forward. Currently on 6mg of reta and I'm 7 months in & 83lbs down.

Weight loss rate has been the same on both. I'm happier with the less aggressive hunger suppression. I'd forget/struggle to drink water on tirz. Less constipation, diarrhoea and reflux on reta too.

Heart rate is a bit high, if I need something for maintenance I'll use tirz.
