T3 - Does it "eat" muscle tissue?

Read Roberts' take on T3 and stay low end dose (25 mcg/day) along with clen for cutting. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off with T3 and clen. Read some chatter on forums claiming T3 "eats" muscle tissue. Can't find anything definitive on it on the web.

Came close with this: "In obese subjects, a reduction in urinary nitrogen has been reported with T3 supplementation, and was additive to fasting's reduction in urinary nitrogen; suggesting a muscle preserving effect.[24] These results have been replicated a short-term metabolic ward study at 100mcg daily, in four divided dosages.[25]

However, at least one study has noted an increase in urinary nitrogen after four weeks usage, in doses ranging from 0.36-1.01mcg/kg bodyweight.[21]"

Anyone know of any real science asserting T3 eats muscle tissue or is this just gym rat drivel?

I believe that the "muscle eating" effect of T3 is actually depleted muscles. A poor diet could absolutely contribute to it as well, but it's primarily depleted muscles that make people freak out and think they're wasting away. Drop the T3 and give those mushy muscles some carbs and they'll pop up again.

This is absolutely correct. I’m prescribed armour and in the past during a cut I’ve bumped it to two a day. No problems there. But when I’ve gone to three within a week I’m freaking out cuz I look depleted as fuck. I think over time while in a deficit you will accelerate muscle protein breakdown if using to much
