Hahahahaha. My brother has a beard very similar to yours. I could grow mine out too, my shit is thicker than a Brazilian woman, but it gets too itchy when it's long. I keep it trimmed short but always considering growing it out :D

Oh the damage I've done in my younger years with my pal Jameson..... Those stories are still talked about to this day lol.

I just got my MRI reports back and spoke with my doc and coach. Looks like heavy deads are back on my menu as coach told me, and I quote, "ok, it's time to get to work"

Squats are my go too personally but deads are right on the tail.

I love that you do the Oly lifts. It actually brigtens my day seeing ppl include these under appreciated lifts. Bc of flexibility and mobility issues i cannot do them right now but I recently began talking to an Oly lifter chick who is going to show me the stretches her USAWL coach has her do. I'm excited to say the least.

Started doing them in team workouts for AAU/HS athletics, I just excelled in them naturally or maybe just because I loved the feeling. Platform days became my favorite days early on, didn't seem like there was much interest in them outside sports training and conditioning 15 years ago...not in my circles anyway. Once I could see the direct correlation between the platform and real world results in drove my intensity through the roof. I've never been "fast", but I'm quick, that first step when I played Def end caught guys off guard. Never really soar on a fast break full sprint, but gimme a bounce pass to the low block and I'm gonna put D's nuts on your chin :eek:
If I cant throw it down with a drop step it's time for me to cut some weight.

I was always been spoon fed this shit my whole life, even the drug protocols from guys that got my feet wet. One of the biggest motivating factors for me joining MESO. I want to further my actual knowledge and actually learn the "why's". I got my USAW level 1 last year, I'd like to get level II sometime. You would prob have a blast talking with @romaleos that guy has an amazing wealth of knowledge, he hasn't been around much I think he's out taking the world of competitive crossfit by storm or some shit. I will stop being so lazy and start posting workouts, I know I'm overtraining maybe you'd be willing to gimme some pointers in here.

either that or I'm gonna have to ask Millard to move this thread to "general discussion"

I was pretty quick before my injuries. Played tailback and free safety before switching to LB (small school so we played both sides of the ball). The Oly lifts back then helped me a lot and I was lucky enough that our starting QB's uncle was a NFL head coach for a few years so he instilled the iron and explosive lifts in us.

Congrats on your USAW I cert. that's got to be an accomplishment you're proud of! And yes, Romaleos is te man when it comes to this shit :D

Gonna have to stay on top of BP better all day, tren + drol is starting to whack me out a lil. Try to limit the Cope to one pinch in the am before I drop the Drol completely, no caffeine. No more strongman conditioning for the time being... Broke my damn wireless BP cuff already, piece of shit....didn't even have it long enough to really learn how to track it all with my phone. :(

Ive always been more into BB than PL but following this and Docs log has given me a new found respect and interest in PL. the dedication and knowledge you guys have is impressive and motivating to myself and i bet many others. Also i like to see the support you guys show one another. Truly brothers in iron.

I can't make my mind up. I want the jacked look so I tend to wanna work towards bettering that. But for my size I have a decent amount of strength and that part comes much more natural and easy than the look. So I'm always torn. Keep that smaller waist for say fuck it and get as strong as possible

This is the same thing that messed with me when making the change. I had dedicated myself to the BB look for so long. Its still hard getting used to the different look and routine. But Im happy with it so far. If for nothing else the challenge and variety of doing something new.
Also theres the poptarts...

get a bigger back and your waist will look small ;) PL doesn't mean you lose your waist size to big gut. most PL just don't care about their guts. if your waist gets a bulge it was from you neglecting your waist, not from PL.

I was holding a lot of water in that pic, drol doesn't help but I'd suspect the test is the real culprit. I upped my adex and it dried me out this week, but I upped the drol and it upped my blood pressure...adjusting better now. My diet is also to blame for the smooth look, I've been way more lax on my sodium intake just bc I've been busy and picking up some premade things. I'm solid under there though, tren has kept me from putting on much weight gain even with a more relaxed diet. Strength through the roof. I just need rest right now more than anything, every other aspect is full tilt.

Oh trust me you of all ppl would love halo. Toxic as hell, especially when used at higher dosages or longer durations, but the psyche, aggression, and beast mode aspects are amazing.

Many ppl mistakenly think to powerlift you have to get fat or lose/sacrifice size. Truth is that's only happening when you don't care about your appearance or when you're limited by a weight class. I've been steadily getting bigger and stronger on just a cruise dose of test. And my programming of late has been shit due to not doing deads for 2months now. Imagine if I had been able to keep going balls to the wall lol. So long as you eat right size will come with strength or at the vey least help progress it.

like huck said you need to get the mental image of "what a powerlifter looks like" out of your head. You can train any way you like and have variance in your actual body image, just because you commit to a focus on strength doesn't mean you have to grow a beard, start drinking mead by the keg and hurling them over your neighbor's fence (it does help though :D) Look at some of these Olympic lifters, shredded! If some of this monster PL/strongman dieted down they great physiques under there.

I'm not a competitive powerlifter anyways I just train for what I consider functional strength & performance. Agility, endurance, explosiveness, and strength:bodyweight ratio are my overall primary focus and it allows me flexibility in my workouts. I could be eating leaner right now, but the reality is I have room to spare for some additional weight gain so as long as my lifts keep going up...I'm not worried about cheating a little after a grueling workout. I can get tight when I need/want to and pretty damn quick as I like to hover in the 225-245lb range all the time. Depends what your individual goals are, but I'm on pace to set some PR's this fall and I still have flexibility in my lifestyle and diet so I'm a happy guy. I try to be a jack-of-all-trades but I'm a master of none.
