The Elders of Organic Farming

Good article Cvictorg. I spent a lot of years in the Big Sur area. It's interesting they didn't comment on just what they mean by organic. I haven't googled it but I'm sure it's there somewhere. These guy's in this article set HIGH standards for just what organic foods were. Sometime in the mid seventies California passed an Organics food act for that State incorporating these guy's standards. Then the federal government passed the " the California organic food act of 1990". This set the standards of growing to qualify to be organic. Well, you know what happened then. MONEY. The big food producers saw the potential in organic foods and used their influence and lobbying power to have their "whores" in Washington rewrite the standards.
Every once in a while you can find an organic product on the shelf (always foreign), some Italian spaghetti for instance, that still processes their crops under the original California act.
