You use the words us and you. So which are you???in any case go fuck yourself.

The muslums don't care about our citizens, so why should we give a flying fuck about theirs. Get our soldiers out of there and wipe the muslum fucks out.

"but what about the innocent children?"

What about our innocent children that were killed in 9/11?

What do you think they will grow up to be. Terrorist. That is their religion. To hate americans. They don'e even give a fuck about their own citizens. Look at the car bombings over there. They always kill 5-10 of their own people just to kill 1-2 of our soldiers. They are trash that needs to be taken out. Kill them all. Fuck 'em.

My dad said that the US will always be the asshole of the world. I'm beginning to believe him now.

Time for this damn country to stand up and do something. Fuck a Nice. It's time to get seroius.

Stevemac, my biggest problem with your calling the nuclear attacks against Hiroshima and Nagasaki acts of American terrorism is it ignores the historical context of how WWII was fought. The act of terror bombing of civilian targets was widely practiced by both sides. It began with the indiscriminant bombing of Warsaw and other Polish cities, followed by Rotterdam, Belgrade, and many British cities by the Germans. The British bombing of German population centers was born out of desperation. Churchill wrote a famous letter indicating that this was the only hope for stopping the overwhelming prospect of German domination. He considered German domination the ultimate catostrophe. He saw this as the only offensive available to the British. In hard times you are sometimes forced to make ugly choices. When the US finally joined the war we accepted this strategy of terror bombing. It was a standard mode of operation among the participants.

Now I want Turn to the situation in Japan, which our military leaders and politicians had to face. By the summer of 1945 no one in position of power in Japan believed victory was possible for Japan. The consensus among Japanese leaders of the time was that honor was more important than defeat. On June 6 1945 the Japanese Supreme council approved a document called fundamental policy to be followed henceforth in the conduct of the war. This provided for the use of 10,000 suicide planes, 2,350,000 troops to fight on the beeches, backed by 4,000,000 army and navy civil employees, and a civilian militia of 28,000,000. The Japanese Diet soon passed legislation to form this army.

American intelligence quickly became aware of the Japanese fight to the finish strategy. The American military commanders calculated from there experience in the mid-pacific Islands that American land invasion would cost the Americans about 1 million in casualties. It would also cost Japanese servicemen about 10 to 20 million.

Considering the human cost of a land invasion it seemed a rational and indeed humane solution to increase firepower by the development and use of the a-bomb in response to the irrational obstinacy of those in charge of Japans destiny. The nuclear bombings saved enormous American and Japanese lives by making it unnecessary for a mainland invasion.

Chris Gordon impressively hit the nail on the head: the atomic bombs dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki were not in retaliation for anything...they were simply to avoid a mainland invasion of japan...which would have clamied so many more japanese civilians lives...im not condoning it by any means....but war is hell, and the japanese had the chance to surrender after the firstbomb, but choose not to....we gave them 9 days or so before the second one.

yea, but the bottom line is that its still terrorism. i really see no difference then that and arab terror attacks, since thats the only way they can see themselves winning. both are wrong. isee very little distinction from 9/11 and hiroshima. again, im not saying that the US is the wrong ones, just that both sides are guilty of bad things.

that's a very easy way to justify it, truth is the thing people love about america is the greatness you offer, its not the reason they hate you.i mean, canada is helluva lot better then alot of countries but were not hated by everyone. most of the arab hatred comes from the US support of israel.i just think thats a very norrowview of things.

I saw it out of respect for the guy and his family. I think he would want us to see how he was treated. He went over there to help out and not to hurt the Iraqi people. This is how they treat peoplw who try to help them out. Reminds me of Somalia with Us Service ment trying to repore order and their body dragged throught the streets. I am now more of an Isolationist and say. "Go kill yourselves. Usa soldiers lives are not worth it to help out" As a Jew i onder if they knew he was a Jew and did it to him or if he was simply a random guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Im interested in the story of how the al Queda guy was able to access Berg's email over a year ago. Hmm...

I have always thought it horrible what we did to Japan. 2 bombs..Come on. One was way more than enough. After seeing what the first one did and dropping a second puts the powers at be in the same boat of any other mass murderer.

The Japanese were/are honorable people and fought that way. We were just pissed we didnt get to use it on Germany and wanted to show the world not to fuck with us.

I dont want our guys over there either but now a job has to get done. As for the terrorists in those other counties you mentioned...their next bro.

Its easy to sit on the sidelines and judge as a lot of the world is doing until something like 9/11 happens to you.
You do realize that those same terrorists feel the same way about you..your just not on their political agenda right now.

Wrong. Canada is on the political agenda. The recent statement/pamphlet by al qaeda puts canada as the 3rd or 4th top target...

yea, but that was for helping in afghanistan, first gulf war, not because our country is so great.after the madrid bombing, i knew if canada went into iraq with the US then we would have gotten smoked somewhere. but you are right, bin laden himself hasmentioned canada in his tapes.

Def staged, and i mean DEF staged. I know what a beheading looks like (and trust me when i say that), the guy was dead at least 2 hours before the beheading.

Open your eyes ppl, US soldiers torturing/raping Iraqis (i too have seen the pics Steve was talking about regarding the women rape, it's all over this part of the world) and the world gets so pissed at Rumsfeld, so *he* releases this video and now all Americans/world say Arabs are savage and all of a sudden what happens in the Abu Ghraib prosion isn't that bad after all. Tell me, why did they release this video at this time (after the prision pics and rage against Rumsfeld)?

P.S. If you think this video was brutal, then i guess we have a different definition of the word "brutal".

Ren, you seem intelligent in many of your posts, but you *assume* a lot.
