The Powerlifter's road to 1150lbs / 500kg - TBOL/TEST/TREN/MAST

f-ing tendonitis was a killer today. Aimed for a PR on the bench, couldn't even manage getting the bar down on my chest properly. Mission aborted and did 3*10 dips instead. I know I can do that 140, its there, its just barelling through the pain. :confused:

Smolov is doing a bit of a weird thing to me - it said one set of 5 reps this morning, and that's what I did, packed up my shit and left. Oh well.

B - 140kg/340lbs * 1 (FAIL)
 
Not a happy farmer. Failed miserably again at 140kg/340lbs bench. Fucking painful, have to dial back and go 3*3 and see if that helps. Dang, I was hoping to see that 150kg/360lbs bench in a few weeks.

Smolov was another fiver of 140kg/340lbs. Easy peasy. One more week and its masteron time !
 
Allright, DL time. Weird how 5/3/1 just gels with me so much more than 5*5. It came up slowly but no grind, probably have another 5 max 10 kgs left in the tank

DL - 175kgs/420lbs * 1
 
Tried 3*3 bench, went up to 130 kg, same problem. Been on YouTube a bit and it may be a rotator cuff socket problem. Will buy some elastic bands and see if I can fix it. Will change back to 5*5 on bench plus dips.

150kg/360lbs times 5 for Smolov Squat today, felt good, flew up
 
Subscribed, boy do I miss powerlifting.. I'm only 29 and it was taking its toll on my tendons and joints.

3 years ago I started developing distal clavicle osteolysis from benching so often... I had to stop any pressing movements for a long time.. it had gotten to a point just lifting my left arm forward would hurt

Anyway enough of my myself, excited to see the progress!

Never tried smolov myself.. I used canditos program for the most part.. nice mix of hypertrophy and powerlifting
 
Have had a 3-day break and refeed (aka binge lol). Spring, sun and a champagne party at work on Monday coupled by little sleep lead to two extra days taking it easy and too much salty food and shit. Bloated today.

The scales did a bit of a bump as a consequence. Hope I get back under 102 kg / 225 pounds again by tomorrow

Strong workout today. Back to 5*5 on bench. Maxed at 120kg*2. Smolov had me 9 reps, 5 sets and 125kg/300lbs. Had me gasping for air

Here's a bit of a fucked one. So I have this fat-pinch-test-thingiemajigger. And I'm way too lazy to find out how it works and 5 test sites and all the rest of it. But I do keep it in my night desk drawer and ever so often, I pull it out, jam it in the belly button and measure the fat in that area.

Although it doesn't give me a fatpercentage, I've gone down from 1.6cm to 0.8cm pinch size. Have I halfed my fat percentage? No, but I'm definitely going in the right direction. I'd say I sit just under 18% now. 2 more months to go.
 
I'm sure the weekend binge weight gain was mostly water weight, I wouldn't even worry too much about! I put on 5lbs of water over a weekend and dropped it in a few days!
 
I've always hated deadlifts while on gear.. The pumps just get so crazy... And I usually squat before my deads
 
I need down time more than I care to admit..

Am so confused mate - my cycle is peaking, my diet is good, form is excellent, knees are working, I'm on like a rash in the gym but I just can't get that thing off the ground. Must be recovery....right? Can't be anything else surely ...
 
Rest and recover man. When was your last deload? If your into a PL routine and pushing yourself hard you will certainly need down time. Take a few days off and come back with a fury.
