I don't know that they, the monuments, are necessarily racist in and of themselves nor do I think they are somehow more racist under Trump... I don't really think any of them really deserve to be immortalized in stone but I'm not going to cry if they stand or go.
The only reason they could be suggested as "more racist" under Trump is because Trump emboldens and gives a voice to white supremacists.
Did you hear Ahhnolds little speech? He would've been a good president. Damn Austrian. Wish he was born in America. Here's one thing I know! We would be ordering our juice in peace under his reign.
I agree with you 100% on statues. Shouldn't be built. Those who know of the event will respect and remember it in their own ways. And those who would protest the statue probably wouldn't even know about the event. Win win.
Also, it's a waste of land. Like graveyards. Visiting my friends graves isn't a determining factor in my remembrance of them. Our times and relationship is how I remember them.
America isn't getting any bigger, land wise (until we invade Canada). So graves, statues, and Krystal's, should be knocked down and make space for more important things.
