32 Years old,and I was just diagnosed with type II diabetes.
blood sugar was up to 340! I'm on a restricted diet, and glucophage 750xr
x 2 daily. I was three weeks into a cycle, had to stop. Anyone no If I can still Juice or am I screwed?

My mother-inlaw has type 2 Diabetes and is also on medication. Her doc is concidering putting her on insulin injections due to liver toxicity of the meds she is taking. You may want to consider laying of the orals.

I had to stop because I had an "episode" where I ended up in the hospital for about five days. Family thought I had a stroke, I was whacked out of my head, due to my blood sugar I guess. Thats when I was diagnosed. Dr. freaked out at some of my blood work/cholesterol and wants all these tests so I stopped my cycle to see how/if it was effecting it.
I was eating everything in sight and putting on the lbs.Now he wants me to lose 20lbs!, Can only have 2,000 cals a day! I don't think I can Grow on that. The only brightside is I will lean up.

Can you post some of your stats....Height, weight, Body fat % if possible. Type II diabetes is usually associated with obesity and insulin resistance(which is why your doctor put you on glucophage). Also what were thre results of your cholesterol panel??? The combination of hypercholesteremia and diabetes is a nasty one. As was stated previously, the AS usually do not affect blood sugars but they will affect cholesterol(depending on which ones your on). Post details, maybe some on here can help..............

It happened to my father the same way, at around 33 or 34 he was diagnosed with diabetes. He was on medication, then now on insulin shots. His doc is going to change him to the new insulin pump. I heard it works better. If he does want to put you on meds, ask about the pump. Why mess up your liver, just go straight to the pump....

My Stats: I'm 32, 5',11", 205lbs, and about 12% BF.
My Cholesterol was just fine a year ago, latest test showed
bad cholesterol twice as high as it should be,and good cholesterol <10
I go to the lab tommorrow to give more blood.
I was 3wks into: 50mg D-bol ED,and 500mg Tren, and Test Enathate weekly. Also Arimidex .30 daily(I've heard this may affect lipids) And Eating about 4,000-5,000 mostly Clean cals, over 5-6 meals a day. I've been "off" now for 24days,long enough to clear my system?

Just question the docs thoroughly, usually they like to put diabetics on a one size fits all diet, because the truth is they don't want to have to put in the work to individulize eating plans. I saw this with one of my training partners, he is over 250 and they put him on some bullshit diet, alos told him that he should keep his protein down to around 50 -75 grams per day, WTF. Just be careful with the advice they give u. And BTW my friend still cycles and has found that when on his need for insulin actually decreases, not sure why, just be careful and monitor your blood sugar frequently bro.

[Pizzaboy I don't think you'll have any problems. I'm a type 1 diabetic, and it sucks for bbg. I'm using gear with about half the expected success. I spend my time complaining, but I'm still growing.
True, AAS are more dangerous for us as for non-diabetic people and all my docs keep telling me I should stop. But I go on and I'm still OK.
If you have very precise questions just ask, I'll probably be able to answer.
AAS will give you insulino-resistance but it's reversible during your ptc. That's what happens to me anyway.
I'm surprised you're only 12 % bf with type 2 diabetes, esp. on a 4000-5000 cal. diet ! I don't think it is a severe case, BG at 340 may be temporarily.

Thanks GeeBee52, My last BG was 240, And doc upped my med. I get tested again tomorrow,Hopefully it's down. When I get this under control
I'll probably start using again, and get one of those glucose testers to monitor BG. I'm not overweight, but my BF% may a little higherthan 12%

wonder if the insulin resistance is temporary? might be AAS related. did you tell your doc about the gear you're taking? normally its not a good idea but when it comes to diagnosing you with a serious disease maybe you should let him know all the facts.

hey geebee. y is aas more dangerous for diabetics?

I do not want to steal GeeBee's thunder but AS are more dangerous for diabetics because they can do two things(besides alot of others): increase blood pressure and elevate cholesterol. Diabetics are already at risk for cardiovascular disease due to prolonged elevated blood sugars damaging the vessel walls(heart, peripheral, etc.). Combine this with elevated cholesterol which can result in a plaque formation(blood cells, cholestrol, various other agents all combines) and you get an increased risk of MI(heart attack), TIA/CVA(stroke), or kidney damage.
Elevated blood pressure can damage the kidneys, heart(making it harder for the heart to pump blood against resistance), and numerous other organs(eyes, etc.). And hypertension can also damage the vascular system leading to the previously stated problems.
Thats the bad news, the good news is that aggressive blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol control can postpone if not prevent all of the above conditions.

Hope this helped, perhaps others can explain this in more detail

Auspex

No, I have not told my doc about gear, I may pending results of some tests, My blood pressure is high 145/90, but I think this was due to AAS
at the time. Did just undergo a stress test, and did ok. They took blood today, had to fast, Cholesterol should be down by now, along with Sugar I hope.

I don't need to ask much to what Auspex 123 said. I could add that, while on AAS, you'll have to increase the quantity of insulin you get.
But don't worry, danger is higher than for non-diabetics but not very high IMO.

You are wrong bro. I'm a daibetic and even when i eat more calories on a cycle i require less insulin. I'm not sure if higher test makes you more insulin sensitve. But i done alot of cycles over the years and always needed less insulin.

Pizzaboy if you want pm me i've been a daibetic for 18 years i'll be glad to answer any questions you have.

well thanx for the answers! i do appreciate them so i know what to look for when i start! is there anything we should do differently on aas then normal people?
